Most songs have been used in movies these days, so it was a weak excuse for any number virtually!

as Jamie has had throat problems all week i cant see him doing U.M... unless Cowell does want him out.. and i really dont think he does... he always gives him a standing ovation so i think the song choice rumor is wrong coz Jamies voice is not suited to that type of drivel...
Purple rain is one of my fav songs ever.. and if Danyl is doing it..i hope he does it justice..like Ruth did! I'd love to hear Lucie doing Decode by paramore from twilight..i think after she aced sweet child of mine this would be a good choice for her... not sure how i feel this week about x factor... its starting to get on my nerves with the constant shitty song choices..same ol crap every year... they need to move into the 2000's

John and Edward – Ghostbusters
Excellent choice for them, bloody hate the song myself, but it'll be a hoot and probably seen them through another round.

Danyl Johnson – Purple Rain
So, for the third week on the trot Simon's picked him a song, done fairly recently by another contestant on XF or AI show, and done really well, so Danyl gets held up to direct comparrison yet again - puzzling choice, and leaving him very open to 'not as good at Ruth's version' unless he completely nails it and outsings Ruth - which I don't see happening as her voice was far more suited to this then Danyl's is.

Stacey Soloman – Son Of A Preacher Man
Uninspiring, but will probably suit her, dull choice though

Olly Murs – Twist and Shout
It'll get the crowd going and see him safe, dull, safe choice

Jamie Archer – Unchained Melody
Flipping knew I should have put a bet on Simon picking this for one of his this week - I reached Unchained Melody overload years ago (thanks in the main to Mr Cowell) so this leaves me very 'meh' about the choice, he'll do it okay, but may well blend into the background

Joe McElderry – Circle Of Life
Spot on choice for his voice, but a bit dull and old fashioned for a young lad to be singing

What a dull bunch of songs  All predictable and safe.

The only one I am looking forward to watching is J&E

Hi there is a thread already up with the songs that the acts will be singing.

I have to agree, they are uninspiring songs, and Staceys is so old hat, and to be honest no one can sing this like Dusty anyway, she will just be safe I guess as she has a huge fan base.

Unchained Melody, what a bore...

Joes song is the only one so far I like and Lloyds and Lucies are still not up yet as I just checked...

Mita I love the song sung by the original artist only now on this song as it has been clobbered to death over the years, so I meant bore as in yet someone else to murder the poor song... sorry hardly Jamie material, unless he is gonna rock it up, and quite frankly I think I would cry if he did that..

Why on that other thread are they saying Llyod is doing footloose as the site still has no updates for L or L, and S is still down as Preacher Man...

What is going on around here.... Watson!

Right my page has at last updated, Lucie with This Is Me, I think I know the song, another ballad.

Footloose should have gone to Danyl or Ollie, poor Lloyd, Cheryl is my least fav judge and always has been, I cannot abide Girls Aloud anyone and never have, but I despair that you give a kid this song which is hard to sing, needs to be danced to, which he cant and on top of it has had a bad throat all week.. no wonder his mother is in the press saying she does not want him to sing this week...

I wonder how much Simon get's in what the singer's he's not mentoring sing cause I think he may have had a lot of say in Lucie's song choice, maybe they're thinking of aiming Lucie to be a disney type star, Demi Lovato is a huge star in America and if Lucie pulls it off the Americans might notice her

I wouldn't call it ballad, its just a really annoying cheesey pop song, I hope she doesn't sing it though.

Love Stacey, but Dannii hasn't given her the best of song choices throughout the competition. Lucie has been given the rock-pop route which i think will suit her but i don't quite get her yet.

Joe's song choice is brilliant albeit VERY predictable. If Lloyd is doing Footloose, then bad times! I wish he could do a ballad! At judges houses when he sang 'She's the One', he was really good! His voice is lovely but thought he would have been better in a couple of years time.

I don't think anyone will pull off 'Purple Rain' like Ruth did last year, well i'm sure we'll see. But going from last week i'm thinking very off key and one big long note?! Jamie i think will be quite good at U.M. Haven't really like his performances except 'Sex on Fire' and his first live show T Rex's 'Get It On'. Wish Simon would give Olly an up to date song so we can see what direction he's going to go in if he won the show. Bit of a boring song choice but he'll definitely pull it off!

Jedward + Ghostbusters= HAHAHAHAAAAA!! Can't wait to see this!!!
