It's amusing how ol' Gord isn't willing to share his views on actually important issues like the release of the Lockerbie bomber but is all too happy to share with everyone his views on a TV talent show.

May be worth a bet on who'll win more votes, Gordon or the Twins.
I think X-Factor pulls more votes than Local Elections anyway!

That's what I thought.

This is not a case of Gordon Brown neglecting his duties. My interpretation of the BBC article on this is that Gordon was asked some questions about Saturday night tele and he answered them. And who knows, his dismissal of J&E may send a few votes in his direction - he certainly needs them!
Do you seriously think people will vote for Brown in an election just because he doesn't like someone in a reality TV show?

The phrase "a stopped clock is right twice a day" comes to mind. After a couple of years old Gordo actually gets something right.

Just read this on BBC News, maybe Brown will gain a bit more support now?

Gordon Brown needs to ruddy concentrate on what has happened to our troops instead of talking out about the awful twins

Couldn't agree more

What has the t*at running our country got in common with the twins ?

Both got to where they are, without approval of the GBP. Send him & the twins to the caves where our troops are

Just read on teletext that he doesn't rate the twins - but he thinks some of the other acts are 'quite good ' in other words he doesn't watch the show but wants to be seen to be 'down with de kids' Now that Cameron has come out in favour of them - could it be that the next election will be fought on the issue of the twins Where will the Lib Dems the BNP or the Green party stand on the issue

If Gordon Brown wants to people please he should stick to what he is paid to do.

He has sold out to Europe so his pal gets the big job, not looked after our troops, brankrupted the country, which is what they always do, failed to deal with rising crime etc.

So forget about a TV show buster.

The question came from teenage actress Brooke Vincent, who plays Sophie Webster in Coronation Street, who was in the audience.

She said to him: "You're like, quite high up there. You're like a top dog, aren't you? So you could like ring in, and say 'we don't want 'em'."

I don't think Paxman or Dimblebey will be worried if she ventures into the media.........nice to see that she has a real grasp of the way british politics works........ only Blair would have rung in, Gordie normally takes 72 hours to decide on his favourite biscuit........stick to acting in a soap love!!

because he was asked a question(David Cameron also made comments about the show but noone is moaning about that),

i can imagine the same people moaning if he didnt answer and just went on to something else saying how dare he disrespect x factor, if he wants public backing he should have said if he like Jedward or not.

No win situation just because he is the PM it doesnt mean he cant comment on other things outside politics

He got where he is now without a public vote, though, so maybe he's jealous of J & E's groundswell of support.

Didn't he recently say 'I really dislike the trivialisation of politics'?

Agreed. This wasn't something, I'm sure, that would have been brought up by Brown without prompt from a journo.

I slated Cameron on the other thread at DS, and Brown is in the same boat. They should and probably are concentrating on more important issues, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be denied their weekly X Factor fix.

I just hope they both paid their TV license fee's and they didn't claim expenses for it through the tax payer.
