There's some real skill involved in crying to order.

Not really the greatest asset for this show.

1/ He didn't cry onstage.

2/ It didn't look like it came from the 'my dog is dead' school at all.

Is your own heart and psyche sooooo very shrivelled and cold that you cannot conceive of a chap under great pressure, temporarily, folding... especially one who is on the record as a tad prone to barrier-ing emotions to his detriment and ultimate breakdown.

I agree with you, Deerd.

It seems that some people have a cold stone where their heart should be. They just can't bring themselves to accept that some people are a lot more sensitive than they are. Danyl is a sensitive type and shows his feelings - and I like that in a guy. The stiff upper lip thing is not for me.

It's nothing to do with stiff upper lip. It's to do with being professional.

It's also to do with a lot of people's double standards. How many people sticking up for Danyl are the same who have repeatedly ripped into others throughout the years for playing the sympathy card?

I wonder why Danyl is the only one that attracts this kind of negative attention though?

As difficult as it must be he would have been better ignoring it. Apart from anything else it give people on here more ammunition. BTW what is arrogant about saying that abusing him was going to make people more likely to vote for him? That is not even confidence in his ability.

Not very sensitive for any ange to be critisised in that way on that sort of show publically. Different if it had been directed at his performance, but even then - who likes to be publically critisised. I wouldn't and I;m older than he is.

Totally disagree with your first paragraph. Not everyone gets this abuse and I can't see how it wouldnt have been a hell of a suprise.
I agree with your second paragraph and I wonder what Simon was playing at.

Something that I have learnt this week is how stupid in the uk are, how can you not see that saturdays little performance from Danyl was all an ACT. You all know that he is a drama teacher and to be one you need acting skills. Why would he get so upset over one small reference to him being compared to hitler? Another thing i have noticed is his replies to AntiDanyl on twitter. Im sorry but you are all fools if you are falling for his act and thanks to that stupid twitterer Danyl is going to win. What a shame.

Because a lot of us aren't sp stupid as to think that because someone is a drama teacher that they aren;t capable of genuine emotion.

I would be upset at a comparison to Hilter, expecially coming after an accusation of bullying my fellow contesants.

i think you have some anger issues and when has being a teacher meant that you cant get upset and feel emotion, teachers are perfectionists, they dont like to let people down or to fail far more than a lot of professions and i can still get upset as much, and more, than anyone if i feel people dont like me, or are criticising me

That AntiDanyl abused loads of people, including me. Do i get any threads about being abused, No, so why should he. Im really shocked at how people refuse to believe that it was all an act, can't you see that he is a fake. Just wake up and get into the real world.

Nor me, has it been removed?

Why are people so anti Danyl. Most people have never met him and are basing their beliefs on what they've read in The Sun, The Star and other obnoxious publications.

Any input is an act, however passive or agressive, subject to manipulation. Psychological FACT!”

The basis for your argument is completely flawed & I'm not just talking about "Fanyls" on here either...

Danyl was in the bottom two the previous week, so obviously he wasn't voted for that much was he?

Then last week he sings out of tune, whilst looking like he's about to burst out crying, then after the song stands there like a kid who's had his teddy pinched...

Hardly rocket science to suggest that more people voted for him last week than the week before? And why was this? It cannot have been for his performance, because that was shit, so most people voted because they felt sorry for him... The sympathy card... FACT!

You were challanged for something that you did for all to see. As for Danyl, I am no longer shocked at how keen people are to beleive something unpleasant based on flimsy evidence.

The "small reference" saying he is more hated than a mass-murdering dictator. Not to mention the hate and lies from some of the press.

NO WAY was that an act. It's not like he was desperately trying to squeeze a tear or two out. He was in floods backstage.

That in no way means that the fans/support wasn't extant - it could simply have been that they thought he was safe that week and didn't vote in any large quantity (that is indeed the case with most Danyl supporters I know).

I would say that regardless of his performance last week... his support was well and truly mobilized to vote early and vote often - ages prior to his 'sympathy vote' performance... you only had to look at the trending on Twitter to evince that. Indeed, I could argue quite the opposite re: the supposed 'act for sympathy'... it may well have - were many to be as erm ummm jaded as you and looking for a negative - discouraged people, who were otherwise positively inclined towards Danyl, from voting if they even felt their was a sniff of sympathy-garnering tactics.

At the very least the positive spin would be potentially cancelled out by a negative backlash such as the kind expressed by your good self... the fact that Danyl's vote sustained suggests that an existing fan base was solid and voting... if there was a smattering of 'ohhhh look-see I'd better vote for him cos he's sad -ers' mixed in then que sera - you can't legislate against it.

Ultimately, in this thread... you are arguing that only people who disagree with your perception of good/bad/whatever are/have been manipulated... I argue that we all, to lesser and greater degrees, as the subjects of manipulation by this form of media experience - yes, you too!
