What are the worst Number 1s of the Decade?
Looking back over the past decade, what do you think were the worst songs to reach number 1 in the UK charts?

Long and Winding Road - Will Young & Gareth Gates, even Will said it was bloody awful and apologised to Sir Paul McCartney for it, I've bought all of Will's music except for that.

The No.1's I hate are the ones that are usually for charity by people who aren't singers. I know it's for a good cause and am glad they get money, but I just hate silly/jokey songs by people who can't sing. Good example is 'Islands In The Stream'

Crazy Frog is an obvious choice but lets remember this decade also gave us
3 of a kind 'babycakes' that was a horror show! I also hated the 'JCB' song. I think the earlier part of the decade was worse and the last 2 or so years have generally been an improvement. |

Crazy Frog.
I must admit I really like Flo Rida's "Right Round", despite thinking that he as a person is a complete plank. |

I often consider any charity / novelty / X-Factor or Pop Idol songs to be the least deserving No.1's. Although I did absolutely adore Evergreen by Will Young.

that was a horror show! . It really was. One of the worst songs I've ever heard. And the white guy in the video needed a shoeing. |

I agree about Babycakes. That was dreadful. I did like the JCB song though. Although I think it says a lot about the Number 1's when I pointed out the JCB Song a few months ago and neither my Mum, Dad or Sister had the faintest idea what I was on about. Personally, I'd like to add Cheryl's "Fight For This Love" there too. It may possibly have been acceptable to my ears earlier in the 21st century, but now it just sounds...... awful. I probably dislike the majority of the number ones from the last decade.

Bob The Builder - although as bad as it was, i did love the fact that it stopped Westlife getting the christmas no.1 in 2000 and prevented them from overtaking the Beatles' record of 7 no.1's in a row.
how humiliating for them that Bob The Builder was the one who stopped them

How about everything that made number 1 this year, bar Cheryl Cole and Alex Burke.

That's a epic hall of shame, right there. Some absolute shockers. |
