I've never heard a better version of that song(feeling good), is that the best ever xfactor performance, for me it is. He should surely win it on the back of that!

I haven't heard many versions but he sounds great singing that song.

No. (imo )

Whilst I thought it was his best performance, I still only ranked it the 5th best of Big Band night (behind Lucie, Joe, Rachel and Miss Frank ). Still, I think he's good enough to still be in at this point.

It was a good version but It doesn't matter how good it was it all depends on the future weeks when he has to sing other songs. If he is in the final people aren't going to say oh do you know what Danyl's performance wasn't as good as say "Joe's" tonight but because of him singing "Feeling good" We'll vote for him.

Rhydian did a good version 2 years ago and everyone thought that he was going to win but he made everything too camp in my opinion.

You don't know what Danyl's going to succeed in or fail in the next couple of weeks. No-one seems to like him so he may go next week.

well that's my opinion... what do I know?

To the OP, take yourself off to youtube and listen to the divine Nina Simone sing it - that's the definitive version (and there's been lots of better versions then Danyl's anyway)

As a Danyl fan and a fan of the song, I would say NO, not the best version ever.

Thats not to say that I didnt enjoy his rendition of it, I did.

But Nina Simone has that one. And I can't see anyone taking it away for her any time soon!

Sorry I meant to say "He did a good version of "get the party started" two years ago. Was comparing danyl to Rhydian because everyone thought that Rhydian was going to win but he didn't. and Everyone recons danyls gunna win

Actually, no, everyone doesn't think Danyl will win. In fact not that many people at all think he will win, though I still think he is in with a chance. He's not as much of a stand-out as Rhydian was, even though the standard of talent this year is lower than in previous years.

At least he was when he was camp, he was intentionally camp (I don't think you can call performances like You Raise Me Up or Bridge Over Troubled Water camp). The problem is when performers are unintentionally camp or camp when they are desperately trying not to be.

I agree with this, though I think he was better than Joe.

At least Joe didn't hit a duff note though he was doing perhaps his most active performance so far.

Uhh no way? I can name lots of people who did it better than Danyl.
Nina Simone, Michael Buble, Muse, Rachel hylton, hell even adam lambert did a better job.

Not even close.

Even Rachel's version last year was superior.

Even? Those two kick Danyl into touch.

I'd add Beverley Trotman and Fantasia Barrino to the list.

No, Fantasia on American Idol did a better version. Personally, I thought Ollie Muirs was better on the night.

Agreed. In fact I didn't rate Danyl's version. I wasn't a Rachel fan, but she did a much better job at getting the song's atmosphere and meaning. It was like Danyl didn't understand it at all.

I think Muse's version is massively superior to Danyls

I liked Danyl in his first audition and thought he could well be the winner of the whole show.
I still don't mind him but have realised that he is often out of tune and was definitely hyped up too much which has done him no favours.

I think Danyls performance of Feeling Good was pretty average.

I prefer Michael Bubles version (even though I'm not a fan of him at all!) and Muse

I found myself immediately comparing Danyl to Adam Lambert....and I think Simon was trying to get the effect of Adam Lamberts 'Feeling Good' performance through Danyl. For me, it didnt work.

I'm starting to wonder if Danyl looks moody onstage because Simon is bigging him up TOO much and he is realising that Simon is overdoing it and it is causing a backlash against him. When Simon was gushing about him the other night, Danyl seemed to be shaking his head, I felt sorry for the poor guy, he probably just wants to compete fairly against other good singers instead of being pushed onto the public and overhyped.

For me it was, and I have heard a lot of versions of the song.

No way was it the best EVER x factor performance, and I am a true Danyl supporter. It was good, but not outstanding, and certainly not the best.

Joe injects no emotion, personality or presence into any of his performances. Yes they're all note-perfect, but that is only ONE thing a great performance should have. I think you can forgive the odd bum note if the performance is great on the whole. And Danyl's "Feeling Good" was brilliant. Far better than Joe's cringeworthy version of Sway. Just my opinion.
