I don't want to be clear sighted, I want to pretend its all real!

Look, most people, myself included, are pretty much clued up. Doesnt stop me liking Danyls SINGING and PERFORMANCE though.

I also like Joe, Jamie, Olly and Lucie, but no-one is analysing that or saying I am buying into the hype!

Lets just all like who we like.

Believe it or not, it is actually easier to judge whether someone has talent if you are clear sighted - you dont have to be fooled by Cowells machinery which ruins popular entertainment and wrecks the chance of people who have real talent of developing careers. Those people dont have to own everything, especially the definition of talent.

Nick, isnt the definition of talent different for different people though?

I think Danyl IS talented, a lot of people don't. So who's right?

J & E are also talented, in that they know exactly what they are doing - isnt that so?

Yes but there is also the issue of just enjoying the performance. If there are unpleasant associations then that can interfer.

If Jamie was to sing a song that had the name of my boss in the title, it would be a barrier to me enjoying it, even if I could still think he did it well.

I agree though that Simon's tactics shouldn't affect your assessment of the talent,
