She won the second series of the UK Talent show Pop Idol in 2003. X Factor replaced Pop Idol but the format was almost identical. She's now a tv presenter on Scottish ITV channel STV. If you want to see her, click the video on this link:

Unfortunately Michelle winning Pop Idol 2 was what signalled the end of Pop Idol as she clearly wasn't a pop idol

She seemed a really nice girl to me.
I'm glad she still has a career - even if not exactly in her chosen field.

She was on yesterday talking about obesity, she still looks big but not so big as she was.

Good for her. I actually really like listening to her voice but she just didn't have enough star quality for a pop career.

She was the best of that year, definitely. But back then the shows didn't do so well -- they got lucky with Will Young!

she was a 'talking head' on part 1 of bbc3's show about the noughties. talking about being obese, in the past tense.

Michelle was on Gillian McKeith's programme (can't remember what it was called) and lost a bit of weight through that.

I enjoyed that interview - Michelle was very good - nice friendly voice, a bit like Lorraine Kelly.
