When I read that Stacey was tipped to be performing "Son of a Preacher Man" this week I felt that her star would likely be rising. Now it seems that she's changed her song choice (?).

I think that one memorable knockout performance from Stacey could make her favourite.

I agree on that score.

I was listening to the MP3's of some of the contestants performances, and its amazing how you can tell the difference when just simply listening.

Stacey's are all good, as are Joe's.

Jedwards are actually not as bad as they sound at the time, but its not much fun listening to them, its the seeing that does it for them.

Jamie's stand out week was "Hurt", but I am fairly sure that is a consensus anyway.

Lloyds are mediocre but not awful.

Olly's sound much better on the MP3, I was pretty amazed.

Lucie sounded pretty bad first week, but since then has improved with each one.

Danyl's first week is knockout! If you can put aside any feelings good or bad you have for him, I think you could still say it was pretty good. Last week sounded worse if possible on the MP3. The other two weeks were ok.

So, if I am going on listening only - which of course we are not, I would say Stacey and Joe for the final 2.

However, I still find them both lovely but dull. So your point on a standout performance from Stacey, tommy, is well taken!!

Don't get me wrong. I still support my main man! Sorry.

My opinion of the acts:
Joe - consistent but can't see him improving.
Olly - peaked far too early. The hype will be gone soon so even if he makes final, he may not win.

Lloyd - been in the bottom two. No teenage girl vote nor no strong voice. Already written off.
Danyl - been in the bottom two. Can't see him lasting much longer. Also written off.

Jamie - quite a weak performer. Gone from good to bad. His days are numbered.
John & Edward - weak singers. Will never win.
Stacey - consistent. Very good vocals. Looks a little uncomfortable on stage at the minute, gonna be a slow burner but if she's too slow, she'll only make the final 4... if she's lucky. She needs to looks a little more confident and I partly agree with Cheryl - just a tad more personality in her performance - and she's definitely in with a chance.

Lucie - Improved from her first two weeks... Doesn't seem hyped up and also seems like she doesn't have much fans (like Alexandra) but will start to gain as people start to realise she's one of the best in the competition as the number of acts get smaller.

So, my prediction winner, and I really hope I don't jinx her, is Lucie.

Any of the girls winning would be great for me.
At least one of them need to make the final.
Don't let me watch such a boring final like last year with no Diana or Ruth there... *sob*

Lucie and/or Stacey need to be in this final - and win!

Read this wrong at first and wondered why you thought Cheryl was in with a chance

Mostly I agree,I've always felt Lucie would do well, and Cowell would be happy about it, should become clear if he does in the next few weeks. Otherwise I have no idea what's going on this year

The girls win more than boys (and go onto be successful) because they have only ever had distinctly average male singers on the show vocally (Rhydian is average for the type of singer he is). The girls are more talented and have better voices and will win hopefully.

simon's made it pretty clear he wants a male winner though, and if this is what he wants he can probably orchestrate it to happen.

I completely agree. Which is why I personally support J&E, at the moment. But I want Stacey or Joe to give me a reason to change my allegiance. With a little bit of a preference for Stacey to be the one who comes through.

Actually so far in XF history 3 males have won and 2 females. I have a feeling it'll be a male who wins this year, but if not, I'm hoping it'll be Stacey out of the female category, I find Lucie a bit bland I'm afraid, although she has got a nice voice.
