Many contestants in various talent shows have had previous experience and it is the knocks that have hardened them. That doesn't seem to be the case with Danyl but his whole demeamour gives off an odour of entitlement. Whether that be simply his nature or (my suspicion) that he is a spoilt child who hasn't matured.
What those other contestants don't have, that should hold Danyl in better stead but clearly doesn't, is the experience of having auditioned for the show before ............. twice before in Danyl's case.
Rhydian was compared to a Nazi (among many other hurtful comments), Steve was compared to Fred West by Louis and ripped to shreds by Sharon in the final (but came out and performed again 15 minutes later with no tears, tantrums or crumbling), Chico was spoken of as the most hated man in Britain, the Conways Sisters, Macdonald Brothers and Same Difference came in for more than their nature merited but managed to put up with. Away from XF, how about going all the way back to Darius in PS who got himself up, dusted himself off and turned it around on PI? On Fame Academy, Alistair Griffin was ridiculed, not just crticised but ridiculed by all but one of the judges and every celebrity on the show, from the moment it was obvious he was a threat to their chosen one. On AI, Carried Underwood was such a favourite of Simon's that she was gossiped about as giving favours for her favouritism, Danny Gokey (like Daniel Evans on XF) came in for disgusting vitriol simply for being a widower supposedly playing on the sympathy vote and Adam Lambert was told that he was better of dead and had death threats throughout the show that became serious enough during the tour for security measures to be taken at many of the tour shows.
Yet Danyl reads or hears a few comparatively mild negative things about himself and ends up in the bottom two and reacts as if he's been sentenced to death.
His inability to cope with basic criticism and rejection that everyone experiences in life is worrying.
