What was / is your top music video from the past or present day? Amongst my top videos has to be A-ha "Take on me"
Also loved REM'S Imitation of life,Then again I am now in my 40's so that would reflect my choices I guess. Your choices would be?

i've always wanted to know that too!

i really like the foo fighters' video for "learn to fly" and "can't stop" by rhcp, just for the silliness.

either Ashes to Ashes or Stand and Deliver. Something about those very early videos that's marvellously inventive.

Take on me is indeed a great video, but for me my fave is Save Me by Queen.
One of the earlier examples of mixed animation and live action, with a few half decent effects thrown in for good measure, like a dove morphing into Freddie.
It is also a very emotional song (as Brian May's usually are if they are not rockers) and that sadness really comes out in the video.

Aha's video mentioned above was very clever.

My favourite is All Time Love - Will Young. Very complicated and with a proper story. The next favourite is Your Game - brilliant concept.

Johnny Cash - Hurt

UNKLE - Rabbit In Your Headlights

I had to choose a different version of the Unkle video as the one I posted had 'cN ut' (without space) in the URL and it got starred out!

Being a lifelong A-ha fan, of course I am going to say Take On Me is the greatest video ever made, but they have made far better videos (I think)
Such as:
