I have memories of Ben Mills the year Leona won. He was the rocker and think he got down to last 3 but he was deeply unhappy, went AWOL for a few days the week he was voted off, had a row with Sharon and I believe told Sonny Thakar - MD of Syco that he didn't want to sing the winners song - Final 5 all record it.

I always wonder if that stuff contributed to him getting knocked out, mind you Ray Quinn sung My Way and made everyone cry and got to the Final..and Ben did get an album deal with Sony.

Erm... did everyone here have a collective three minute memory loss when Jamie sang "Hurt"? It can't have been that bad as it propelled the track back into the top 40. Hardly a rock song within his comfort zone.

Explai. I don't see how anyone threatening to quit would get them votes, quite the opposite I'd say.

The Sun wanting a story, morelike.

I don't buy x factor records as most of them are complete tosh, but I would buy Jamie's record because I like his sound. He has more than enough credibility - what he needed was exposure, which he is getting on the x factor but Simon seems hell bent on ruining his chances by giving him crap songs.

Unchained Melody? Even Bono couldn't make that sound good!

WHY does he have to be versatile????????? is elton john whitney Leona..no they are not!

not one of the acts on x factor is versatile... and no Jamie doesnt need to be.. his voice is rock and i for one love it..its the first time we have had a decent rock singer on this show..and i hope he wins..

My concern

However, I don't think Bono could do Hurt and that was my fave one of Jamie's. I hope we're not disappointed.

More manipulation, press leaks, God xfactor have excelled themselves this year, Jamie will be safe this week, Any fall out with Simon will get him more votes.

i actually don't think this will get him more votes. if he threatens to quit, people will see him a either big headed or someone who wants out anyways, so just won't bother to vote for him

The only time he threatened was about two weeks ago.
I don't think he is big headed he is much older than the others and does,as one would expect, have a little more confidence too.

He does have many many fans and I think that this and the piece where they mention Danyl too is just not on really.

good, cos he is no more than a karaoke performer........who cares........they are all shite wanna bease, rachel was the only truly talented musician and again the public got it soooooo wrong..........i am not a relative, before anyone asks, but.........she had passion, the ability to perform, unlike stacey and lucie who are still performing cos they have been told to move in this direction, smile at this moment.

rachel was a true performer, bad hair, bad stylists, bad song choice, bad mentor.

Iknow they both have been given some really bad press over this weekend and have both been working hard too.

Oh I did not know he went AWOL did he.
I remember Ray and the fact that 'everyone'cried. I saw Ben playing about 15 months ago. Being a lover of Rock I loved his playing.

The viewing figures must be down, or they are trying to take all the attention away from Strictly. Max Clifford on behalf of Cowell is probably feeding this stuff to the tabloids.
