now im onyl posting these as i find them a good read, and there smacks of a fair bit of truth in this. Not because they say Danyl as a fall guy, but also saying it may be a double bluff, and also the standard conspiracy theories about the twins

As i say a good read for anyone interested

ooh I love a good conspiracy theory!

I don't find it very interesting. Just a rehash of everything that's already been said many times before on this forum in a far more eloquent manner.

Quote:
“It emerges that the brothers were 'pre-auditioned' in London before being selected to audition for a second time in front of the judges in Glasgow. Producers seemingly decided they had star quality - and put a Jedward masterplan in place.”

All contestants are pre-auditioned. Point?

We all know that Simon is lapping up the publicity the twins have brought to the show. I didn't need the Daily Mail to tell me their inclusion in the live shows was always meant to be.

Nothing particularly insightful there tbh. You will derive that and much, much more from the postings on this forum.

Bloody hell... I'm gonna get a bad name for myself - all this reading of the DM

I've said for a while that Danyl has had to fall from grace in order to be ressurected on the viewing public's terms... he could never have sustained a simple high throughout... it's a gambling man's strategy but I doubt Simon is adverse to the odd risk.

It's all too mind boggling...and here was I, thinking it was just an innocent talent show.

It's poor, IMHO. Just standard Daily Mail stuff. Probably lifted partly from this forum. Not particularly insightful and not written by someone who has any great knowledge.

They are name dropping Alan Boyd to make it look as though they know what they're talking about. The reporter probably just found out who he was when he did a piece with the Guardian last week (which is where their info is from). For me, it's too much of a coincidence that he gets mentioned twice in a week.

Also, there's nothing extraordinary about Cheryl Cole launching her career on the Sunday show. It's not as though it was bad for the show! Her turn was almost as hotly anticipated as Whitneys.

And the Westlife is a bit lame. Yes, Louis Walsh is their manager. Surely a more interesting connection would be that they are signed to Syco who also produce the show?

I think most people predicted Danyl would go from hero to zero in the live shows. These things tend to happen - he peaked at his first audition and he has since failed to reach anything of that standard in his subsequent performances. I didn't foresee Simon standing by him all the way through though. And I think if Simon wants to rebuild his popularity he needs to reign in the gushing praise and standing ovations.

As it stands I'm not entirely convinced that Danyl will triumph in the end.

Very interesting Lisa ; I'm intrigued by this talk of a "casting guru" and a "storyline".Very believable too.....maybe acts are not chosen on talent but on whether they fit into this year's script.

They pick up the tensions between Simon and Cheryl. Is he getting a bit tired of her I wonder?

Cheryl using the X Factor to launch her solo career is incredible. As Pete Waterman said,an X Factor judge launching her single on the X Factor and having the biggest selling song of the year, tells you a lot about whether it is really a talent show.

M'eh - nothing new really. Surely nobody believes the show is anything but a fully scripted entertainment show - although the panto element seems totally over the top this year

The photo of Danyl, Jamie, and Olly mis-identifies Jamie as Danyl.

Which is interesting, since the story tips Danyl as the "probable eventual winner."

Perhaps the Mail is actually backing Jamie, they just don't realise it yet.

Interesting how? The article reads like it has been cobbled together by a brief skimming of this forum.

It's been obvious forever that Danyl was set up for a big fall. Whether he bounces back or not is the interesting question.

Have we heard anything on the forum about a "casting guru" who advises the producers which acts to put through? That's a new one on me anyway.

I haven't read anything on the forum, but I work in (non-musical) reality television in the States, and these "casting gurus" definitely exist on every series with which I am familiar. About X-Factor I'm completely in the dark, though.

I think most of us are aware that there are people behind the scenes, that we don't often hear about, who are pulling many of the strings.

Spoken of in hushed tones as codename 'The Wizard'... oooooooooo.

Yeah, although I think it's interesting that it's becoming more acknowledged within the media instead of them all playing the 'we-all-know-but-we-play-dumb-nudge-nudge' approach that they've taken in the past.

I want my money back. A three hour documentary about dust presented by Steve 'Interesting' Davis would be more stimulating. Banal tosh seemingly written by someone who reads far too many tabloids and watches the show via YouTube clips. Utter dross.

Hi, what is interesting re that article isn't about singing and contestants, but more about Fashion of the female judges. I had thought Dannii and Cheryl bought and wore their own stuff, as they can afford to, seeing how much they earn, so aren't skint, yet they are kitted out by someone else, and those clothes would cost a lot of money, especially the stuff Cheryl's been wearing, and it looks to me that XFactor is more to do with Fashion than anything else.

That dress Dannii wore has an old fashioned look to it, and makes her look older than she is, but Cheryl's metallic look is very trendy, if I can use that word, and catches the eye immediately. Then Simon having a go at the girls for wearing those type of clothes doesn't sit well, as he knows what's going on. Actually Simon's on a winner, having fashion models like Dannii and Cheryl, and the zany twins and what more would he want. xxx

Producers are the same as casting people for this show, I'd imagine. After all, those original auditions aren't talent auditions. They are casting auditions (done by producers and staff from Syco Music).

The guy they refer to is retired.

Quote:
“Boyd, 68, who retired three years ago, remains a special adviser to RTL's chief executive Gerhard Zeiler, the owner of Fremantle. He also acts as an unofficial adviser to (Richard) Holloway (Executive Producer) as he spends Saturday evenings watching The X Factor, and telephones with instant feedback.”

If that article hadn't been written a week ago, I suspect the Daily Mail would never have been talking about casting gurus.

There was an article a while ago that said they paid for their own clothes at the auditions.

Dermot O'Leary also has a stylist and no doubt gets all his suits paid for by the show, I suspect Louis Walsh does as well. Probably under some sort of expenses scheme. Simon's dressing room probably cost more than all the girls clothes combined.

Ryan Seacrest claims expenses (such as travel) of $100,000 a year for American Idol and can claim as much as $300,000.

Will read tomz and thanks for the link, but I always felt Danyl was the fall guy and said on here over a week ago Ollie was the one he wants to win.. why.. ok singer, nice voice, CAN and WILL be manipulated by SC..does as he is told, a very Mr Average no threat to Leona.. which unless you are nuts is paramount ..

And as Susan B did not win and he said she would, he can now say .. HEY look this is me guys I like to mess around, I knew SUBO would not win, I also knew Danyl would not either .. which is why I bigged them up as I knew Diversity and Ollie/Joe would win..

He has to be the biggest arse hole walking and right now I dislike the man even more than I did with the Will Gareth thing.. and that is saying something from me..

And now Euro I am off to bed Flu JABS in the morning.. for older mum 75 and son who falls into the NOT safe mode of Pig Flu.. me.. NO not me. .. come at me with a jab and you may regret it this am...

The attempts by the Mail to support Danyl are pathetic.

I wonder what the agenda of a newspaper that has been caught out as homophobic time and time again coming out in support for Danyl is.

I thought all auditionees had a pre audition, just not in front of the show judges. I could be wrong, though, it could be that I am assuming that because AI definitely does.
