Jedwards Dad Speaks Out @ The Haters !!
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/posts/view/107059
Their dad John confesses he and the twins’ teacher mum Susan have been taken aback by the jibes. “Some of the things said were vicious and as parents it knocks you for six,” he admits. “There’s been booing and that’s tough because they’re so young. |

They're doing so well because nobody will shut up about them.
If the nationwide media didn't make such a fuss, they would have gone in the first week. |

I can fully appreciate that, as parents, such negativity towards their children would knock them for six... but on the other hand it could be suggested that they ought to have given their boys a slightly more realistic take on their talents and capablilities or had factored into the equation that there would be some stick given their sons' lack of obvious talent... but cynical old me reckons they are in on the wheeze and as much a part of (and lovin') the media maelstrom as any other cog in this publicity blitz.

I don't think it's fair to say 'well, their parents shouldn't have let them enter'.
I don't think the boys expected to get all the way to the final 12, and it's not their fault that they did! And they definitely didn't expect the amount of attention they received from the media (and the girls )It must be terrible for their parents to sit there every week and listen to their sons get booed, and to see all the bad press and hurtful comments. Fair enough, people don't like them but there's no need for the death threats and over-the-top reactions we've seen. I feel sorry for the boys' family, to have to be put through that

I think the fact that J & E are athletes is working in their favour. They are obviously disciplined and focussed and have a strong determination to do well. They may well have the ideal temperament for The X Factor.

I agree. As their Dad points out, "They haven’t been reduced to tears and I’d be surprised if they were."

There's always stories in the press about someone controversial, but it's not normally because someone has the X-Factor. The twins are only creating controversy/press because people are voting for them when they clearly can't sing or dance, and their so-called 'entertaining' performances are helped along by dozens of backing dancers and are choreographed by somone else. They're just puppets dancing to strings pulled by someone else. Replace them with any young teenage boys and no-one would even notice (except for their faces and hair lol ).

If the twins spend any length of time in showbiz - and I suspect they may do after the show finishes - a certain amount of negativity and bad press will come their way and they might usefully look upon the booing, etc. as a bit of experience that will be good for them in the long run. So far they have handled it extremely well as far as we can see in the live shows.
It must be hard for their parents to see them booed on stage - but then it would probably be hard for any parents to realise they've given birth to the phenomenon that is Jedward!

It must be really hard for J & E's parents. I don't think I could cope as a parent watching all that. I'd be like Serial Mom turns Hulk.
