X Factor going downhill? Will saturday show be underwhelming yet again?

Looking at the spoilers for the songs this Saturday, it seems like another predictable round.

For me the show has gotten boring, all the drama and eccentrics aren't doing it for me either. I want to see talent, and not in the generic talent kind that lacks originality and poor performances.

I don't see a star in this year, mainly due to the poor song choices, and poorly chosen contestants.

I'm hoping Saturday will be a little bit more entertaining instead of just more dramatics from Danyl or Lloyd about how good they are. Some of the contestants are good, but certainly not on the par with Leona or Adam Lambert.

I also missed last week's show solely due to the fact I knew Rachel would be eliminated.

This series is very poor IMO.

It comes to something when the nation waits with baited breath to see an act that can't sing!

The acts are either decent singers, but bland/uninspiring (Stacey, Ollie, Joe, Jamie & Lucie); can't sing one iota (Lloyd); can't sing, but are compulsive viewing (Jedward) & then there's Danyl, who is potentially a world beater (by this series low standards), but something about him just makes you not want to embrace him or warm to him.

As well as the poor choice of performers, this series' mojo has been taken right out of it by the Sunday night show.

The Saturday show now lacks any real drama IMO, as you know that there is no result pending a couple of hours later.

Yep, it's a weak line-up this year.

When you consider last year when there were 3-4 really good acts, not one of this years crop really makes the grade.

The solution is quite simple, get them singing at their best by giving them songs which suit their style and vocal range. Unfortunately this would be even more boring to watch, so they are kinda damned whatever they do.

i agree - underwhelming is the right word to describe this year.

Think back to this time last year, particularly big band week which had amazing performances from Alexandra, Laura and others. This years big band week was not even close.

Some por song choices have been made and the Jedward debate has taken over.

Miss Frank and Rachel were the two freshest, most interesting and most talented acts in the competition. It's a joke that rubbish like Lloyd, Olly and Jamie have advanced further than them.

I agree OP. There is defintely something lacking this year. I'm watching each week but struggling to get that excited by any of the acts.

Usually, by now, I've got one or two absolute favourites that I'm rooting for an look forward to seeing each week. This year, I couldn't even name my favourite.

On the whole I'm finding this series really boring - thank goodness we have the twins to liven it up!

In your opinion of course. I personally think Rachel and Miss Frank were rubbish. I really like Jamie. I don't have an opinion either way about Lloyd and Olly - to me they're just fillers.

Some opinions are more informed than others. (The opinions of the majority of XF viewers about music and performance are uninformed.)

They're not rubbish. They're different, interesting, likeable, and consistently put on fun, funny and exuberant performances. Which cannot be said for Lloyd, Olly and Jamie who are bland, crappy, derivative nobodies the programme has to wade through before it gets to the real deal: John & Edward.

noits a singing contest. so what if they dont have the personality, id rather watch olly and jamie, rather than threse 2 tw*ts who think they can sing. its not about funny its about singing.

No it isn't. If it was just about singing why would the judges and the audience criticise the stage-performances of each act? Why would any act bother having a stage-performance at all? If it were purely a singing contest everyone would be standing still in front of a microphone like (the incredibly boring) Stacey.

You don't have to like them; you're perfectly entitled to be wrong.

I dont think it could get worse then the last couple of weeks. Looking forward to Danyl doing Purple Rain.

Your right there are no Leona's or Adam's in this show. Its rare that sort of talent comes along and this year is more a Michelle McManus, Steve Brookstien type of standard.
