Cowell backs Olly to win but is seemingly at war with Jamie
Simon has told two of tomorrow's newspapers he wants Olly to win (and failing that,Joe!).
But relations between Cowell and Jamie are said to be at an all time low.He has banned Jamie from touring with Bon Jovi and it is understood Jamie threatened to quit the show at one point.Apparently the bad blood between them goes back to the last minute change of song a fortnight ago. |

It doesn't surprise me that Simon is talking up Joe. He's always seemed enthusiastic about Joe's potential.
It would be a mistake to overestimate Simon's loyalty to "his" acts. His primary loyalty is to the bottom line of Syco, and I reckon he's reached the conclusion that Olly and Joe are the contestants most likely to enhance it. Simon has stated publicly that a significant portion of the public doesn't like Danyl, and he can't continue to back him to win when Olly and Joe are at least equally well-liked without the baggage of numerous and vocal detractors. It's a business decision. |

Euro this is really bad, as if I read this right Jamie has a chance to tour with BJ.. then run away Jamie dont take anymore shite songs as that band will treat you far better than SC know how.. and they like you.. Sambora never makes any comments and he did.. and shut up you lot.. I have been a fan of this band for over 24 years. So it is out then Euro.. SC has finally said who this was all about really.. OLLIE.. god my daughter will be thrilled she saw straight thru SC... next time tho honey let me in on the bet as well.. JOE sorry what another Gareth Gates Simon.. please dont do it to another 18 year old.. not nice |

Full article on why Jamie wanted to go (although he is staying).
Interesting. As I have said before, I'd *love* to see those contracts. There is no love lost between Jamie and Simon now at all. The article reads as if the Unchained Melody song was a punishment for Jamie. I wonder what effect this will have on public support for Jamie? If Simon is treating him this badly ... Was Jamie 'a fool' to go up against Simon? No, of course he wasn't. He must have known where Simon's loyalties lay, and he was to much his own man to put up with so much shite from Simon. It only enhances his own credibility. |

He feels Simon gives him rubbish songs to make people vote for Olly Murs and Danyl Johnson.
This is so obvious. No wonder why he is not happy! As for who Simon wants to win, why no Danyl? Has he given up, or is he trying to make him look like the underdog? I think that Purple Rain is a turning point for Danyl. Either he shines or he looses the support from The Power That Be. Now if Simon talked to the press after he watched the Friday dress rehearsal, it could mean that he wasn't impressed. But who knows. It could also mean that he is playing games. |

Were it not for Cowell and X-Factor, no-one would have heard of Jamie. He said himself that he entered the competition to get in the music business because at 34 years old, it was probably his last chance of making it big.
The only reason Bon Jovi heard of Jamie was because of Cowell and X-Factor. There may never be a record contract with Syco for Jamie but he will have opportunities opened up for him that would never have been there but for Cowell. I would guess if he walks out on his x-factor contract though, he'll blow all that - no-one likes a quitter and the legal wrangling that's bound to follow will effectively keep Jamie from accepting any offers until he's long been forgotten. He knows that. X-factor was never going to be Jamie's style but so what, the Bon Jovi offer shows he's got what it takes and those opportunities will still be there in six months time. |

If I were Jamie I wouldn't worry too much about a bust-up with Simon. If anything it'll enhance his much talked-about credibility a bit as he's been a bit lacking in drama so far.
If he gets out of Simon's clutches he'll be able to make music after the show without the cold dead hand of Cowell all over it. |

We've not had week 5 performances yet and Simon has declared his hand, apparently. Like someone else said, that's quite early for him - I think it's a case of smoke and mirrors with him.
As for Jamie, well a rocker was never going to win XF and most wouldn't choose to go on the show, but I am sure he is pragamatic re the exposure it can give to him afterwards. |

That's such a shame for Jamie. Would he be able to join BJ if he was voted out this week? Scott Bruton seemed to get signed up for work really quickly.

I think last 8 sign their lives away for a year Zip, hence why Rachel going was good/convenient for her if she had offers and she was never gogint to win.

Yes I believe that is correct or used to be the contestants are signed up to Simon till the last day of the Tour which is I believe March he then has 1st pick at who he wants to sign, the rest then are released to find their own way. So JAmie will be tied now till March.

Yes I would doubt he will sign Jamie now, so maybe Jamie suspects this anyway and is frustrated at not being a ble to tour with Bon Jovi a big chance IMO. MAy not come again. But I sincerely hope it does,

I tend to agree that Jamie was set up in the hope that it would benefit Danyl, but about the contract, I am sure that Jamie knew what he was letting himself in for.
The contestants are never allowed to reap the benefits of their exposure before the end of the tour. All they can do is perform in small venues organised by XF. |

Hopefully he can do so after the tour, that is if the offer is still open we can only speculate on that, I certainly hope so for his sake would be great for him.
Yes Chi I am sure he did know but when something comes your way after years of trying its hard to turn it down now another oppportuinity has arisen, that to is hard to be in a position not to be able to take it. I feel sorry for him. |
