My OH went into bookies yesterday to place a bet on Jamie to go this weekend. He knew the odds were 7/2 on Paddy Power but he went into another bookies to put the bet on. When he was putting the bet on the girl in the bookies told him that the odds were 16/1 for Jamie to go and my OH nearly took a buckle in his eye and asked her was she sure! She said yes and he put the bet on. According to all bookies though the odds are 16/1 for Jamie to WIN not to go this weekend and 7/2 for him to go this weekend. Do you think the girl in the bookies made a booboo?

If Jamie does get eliminated tomorrow night are the bookies obliged to pay out to my OH as the bet states on his slip that the odds were 16/1 for Jamie Archer to be eliminated this weekend?

If it definitely says 16/1 to be elimiated, I would think they have to honour it. Saying that, id go in to double check.

Who is higher up the list then because 16/1 is not good if you think someone is going to leave.

I tend to look at oddschecker. Here are the odds decimilised across all bookies - easier fro me to understand.

I've seen them get the odds wrong online, they don't usually honour it if it's an obvious mistake in the odds they will just void the bet. Might be a bit different in the shop, usually what happens online is someone spots the bookies have priced something obviously well wrong, word spreads on forums so lots of people jump on the bet then the bookie sees their error and will void all those bets.

It's good if you think someone is going to leave, you will get a much bigger payout than 7/2 if he does leave.
