Who are we not seeing the best of?

For me the most frustrating is Jamie. He isn't being given the songs that the can really get stuck into. He is still my favourite but I think if given the right songs he would be gaining more support.

I think Olly is coming along nicely and probably being given a fair crack of the whip. I hope for his sake he isn't been seen as the chosen one, at least not until we are nearer the final.

Joe probably hasn't had the best themes for him so far but apart from that I don't think he's being shafted.

I have gone off Stacey since the auditions but I don't know if that is because she hasn't got the right songs or she just isn't doign enough with them (for me anyway).

I would love for Lloyd to suprise me. I don't think his songs have been the best but I don't think that that is the only problem

Lucie is growing on me and I think that she is probably been given a fair crack of the whip interms of right song and arrangements (but not necesarily judges comments)

Re Danyl, for me less is more in terms of his performances but it seems to be his performance style that is at the heart of why a lot of his fans like him. So if he changed it so I felt less slapped in the face by his effort, he might lose more support than he gains. I think Simon's overblown support is probably his biggest external disadvantage (extenal to him but internal to the show)

I have little doubt that we are seeing the best of J&E

Danyl is the person we are not seeing the best of, along with Jamie. Poor song choices, media hype, personal attacks, they both have had a rough ride over the last 2 weeks

I think the song choices for them both tonight are poor, Jamies more than danyls, and i hope they go up there, have a blast and enjoy whatever time they have left and stick two fingers up to SC

Stacey - I love Danni but I feel her song choices for Stacey could be so much better.

Danyl.
I think the fist 2 songs should really have beeen sung by the women constestants, even though he sang them well, and he came alive on Big Band week.
Last week is just best forgotten so I hope he pulls off his song tonight.
I would like to see him doing something like his own songs that can be seen on Utube.
That's his natural style and he is very good at it.

Jamie could, and should, have been amazing this year. Simon obviously has no clue (or otherwise doesn't care) what to do with him. Jamie is intelligent, knows his music style and is an established musician. Simon likes bland aritsts he can mould how he wants, and it's not going to work with Jamie.

I'm going with Jamie too. We caught a glimpse of it when he sang Hurt but, since then, he has not been allowed the opportunity to shine like that again. No accident, I'm thinking.

Stacey too could have had better songs, and I also feel she should be allowed to just stand still and sing if that's how she feels comfortable. Making her prance about just for the sake of it is pointless. There may come a time when she will feel like moving about more, but there's no need for everyone to be a performing monkey.

I actually think Jamie more than Danyl, although I agree that Simon should let Danyl do something in his comfort zone as shown by his original stuff and stop with the whole "money note" thing that everyone, including some of his own fans, are so fed up with.

But although Louis may not be right about Jamie being a " one trick pony" and "not authentic" and whatever else he has said, I CAN at least see why he is saying it. Apart from "hurt" where he DID prove his metal, he has been pretty much sidelined into singing "generic" rock that everyone knows he can do anyway.

Maybe tonight will change all that.

I also think that there is a lot more to come from Stacey, but I wonder how much of that is her own confidence holding her back rather than anything to do with Dannii, who is a terrific mentor.

I think we're not seeing the best of any of them for 99% of the time because they're not singing songs of their own choosing... apart from when Jamie did a U2 song! It would be good if one week they could all choose their favourite song that they know they can do well and then we can judge them better!

There is nothing more to Stacey other than what we've seen - because we've seen exactly the same thing from her from the first audition up until now. She's not capable of anything more.

Lucie is the true diamond of the series who's being messed up by this stupid "you need to show versatility!" mentality. Rather than honing her skills in a particular genre they're trying to stretch her across every genre, and this is possibly because Stacey is incapable of doing anything other than the slow/ballad songs with no routine and they can't have two people doing the same thing. This is a shame, because Lucie can do what Stacey does (stand still and sing a slow song) a million times better than Stacey can do it, as shown by big band week.

Here's to you Mrs Robinson. I agree
