WTF has Cheryl given him Footloose ? As somone suggested in another thread, stand by me would have been so much better. He seems to sound better with 'raw' songs without much of a backing track, so Cheryl's given him a flipping pop song:sleep:.

He is probably singing Stand By Me

The song choices were wrong, Dannii confirmed Stacey isn't singing Mad World

It may still be changed......well thats what im hoping.
They just cant give the poor boy a song that will have a complicated dance as well as singing.....he has hardly had any time to practice because he has been so ill.

Its like some very sick joke, i am praying for "stand by me" but i do think he will end up getting "footloose".

"Footloose" is about a guy who loves to dance and they give it to the one contestant who has two left feet.

I think they are making it thier mission to get him eliminated

Cheryl wants him out to pave the way for her Geordie soldier to win.

The list had errors, its still highly likely lloyd is singing "footloose" but you never know....

Just read that lloyd has been diagnosed a sister virus of laryngitis and was so illl he only started practicing on friday!!

He has had one day to practice...they can let him go on

Defiantly not with "footloose", the poor boy is doomed.

I think Lloyd will manage this all by himself. Apart from the horrendous twins, Lloyd is the worst singer amongst the ones who can actually sing.

Cheryl has single handily ruined any chance lloyd had of proving himself to be a good singer.....she has picked songs that completely dont suit his voice.

If any of the other acts had been given such stupid songs they too would have struggled

I know you're a fan, but this is pure rubbish.

Lloyd has never, ever been good. Show me a performance of his that demonstrated he had a strong, interesting voice? Or that he was a great performer?

And it isn't as if the others haven't had tricky choices.
Difficult songs are what you make of them.

Fly me to the moon is as straightforward as it gets, I Kissed a Girl isn't exactly a difficult song. I can't remember what he did on week one. Bleeding Love was an awful choice admittedly, but Lucie did a Leona song too and pulled it off much better.

Lloyd does not have a strong voice or powerful voice but imo he has an interesting voice:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEBxxbgaoyY
and here when he is singing "shes the one" he sounds just lovely:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-F-vtKK464
tell me thats not a pleasant voice...

Im not saying lloyd is the best singer but his voice is soothing to me....i think everyone would agree that he sounds better in those two clips than he has done through-out the live shows.

thats down to song choice..
Anyway he will be gone come sunday...

I think Cheryl is to blame with bad song choices.

Those performances were perfectly adequate - and not at all unpleasant, but nothing exceptional. It's a nice voice for a choir, for a bit of karaokee, perhaps even as Louis suggested, for a lesser member of a boyband. But simply not good enough for a solo artist.

He did sound better in those two clips, but its only down to song choice in the sense that if he had an easier song to sing, he'd sound slightly less rubbish. He's no where near the standard that would merit a recording contract.

Although I imagine footloose will be catastrophic, I don't think he'll go this week, his fans will vote like maniacs and keep him n.

I do think he's a lovely lad and very good looking, but I see very little merit in his singing and his performing is lacklustre. He simply shouldn't be there - and wouldn't be if he wasn't such "a little heart throb".

If lloyd has been given "footloose" he will need to really pull out something great if he is going to stay...

I think its 98% certain lloyd is going home...poor lloyd i really hope one day he makes it.

Have to completely agree there and have said as much since the day he was put through. Christ, ex Phixx cum Dean Gaffney lookalike Nikk Mager was sent packing at the auditions last year supposedly not good enough yet he could have sang this little runt under the table! Image, it seems, is everything.

I was surprised to find Lloyd in the bottom 2 though despite his dodgy performance - he obviously hasn't got the big teenage vote that I initially thought. I reckon it must be being shared with Olly who really isn't that much better.

Thank you for taking a listen and in all honesty i agree with you...

I think i am just so upset that cheryl has been unable to pick easier songs more suited to his voice, and i think he is such a lovely boy that i am just a bit overwhelmed by pity for him.

Im dreading watching him struggle tonight after all he has been through this week..... lamb to the slaughter if ever there was one.

I still stand by my views that with training lloyd could be amazing and very distinctive but he needs work.

Cheryl is coming across as a truly rubbish mentor this year. I do agree with what you're saying in the sense that if someone like Stacey is given very carefully selected songs that will show her off at her very best, then it's only fair that Lloyd gets the same chance in the competition.

When I heard he was doing Footloose all I could think was WTF?

He does need training, but he'll get some valuable experience and exposure from x factor and hopefully afterwards he'll go off and work hard to improve. Even if he wasn't quite ready, it was a great opportunity for him.

Thats cheryl and her WTF song choices for you

I just dont see how after only one day of practice and a bad throat they are even going to allow lloyd to sing....and sing "footloose" at that!

TBF, I don't think it matters which song you give him; he can't sing & he's too wooden & lacking in charisma to be in the live finals.

thought i saw he is singing..stand by me.....which is a far easier song to sing if your throat still sore plus words are easy to learn........even i managed it in a pop quiz once lol

I hope to God thats what he is singing...

If he sings footloose its like a ticket straight to the bottom 2.

The main problem is that Lloyd is far too young to be in the competition. He lacks the experience and it shows. It's not his fault, he really shouldn't have been put through.

I've always believed that the only reason he's there as a contestant is for the teeny vote for a few weeks and he's now running out of time as the competition gets tighter.

Doesn't matter what he sings, or attempts to sing, the fact remains that he is beyond terrible and should never have been allowed thru to the live shows.

He is an embarrassment to everything that is music.
