Acts of Faith?
neelia
07-11-2009
I have been struck most years by the numbers of acts that seem to have strong faiths. Rhydian, Leona, Beverly, Ashley, Suzanne (PI not XF) and there were others (My memory is not great).

I don't remember any comments about this for this year. Anyone know any difference.

Stacy is Jewish but I don't know how big a deal that is for her.

Of course beyond established religions people can have a strong spiritual bent.

Often (and more of a US than UK thing), singing in the church choir is when budding songsters first get a taste for and opportunity to perform.

I don't think any worse or better of an artist but I find differnent drivers and inspirations interesting.

I'm pretty sure the twins' souls are in good hands.

Awww

Was that the committed believer sort of prayer or the just-in-case-nothing-to lose kind?

Wasn't Brenda quite religious?
And 4tune did their little group prayers before every bootcamp performance. Although I think judging by their harmonies, it may have been mayday prayers.

I think it was the last resort kind...

Ah yes I think you're right.

I'm not sure whether there is any significance in this - whether Xfactor is attracting a greater percentage of believers than the general public or that it is just that you get to know more about the contestants in terms of motivation etc than you tend to with people you have a passing acquantance with in the real world.

I have to say, I never knew about contestant's faith or not.

Possibly because I have none (religion that is, I have plenty of faith in things!) I don't tend to take any notice.

For those in The X Factor who DO have religion, I am sure it is a great help to them. Many of my friends who are Christians and Jewish take a lot from their faiths, and I think thats lovely.
