According to his mother he was diagnosed with a sister virus of laryngitis and was not well enough to even start rehearsals till friday.

If he has only had one day to practice why is he being allowed to sing at all tonight?

Even more so if he doing a hard song like "footloose" you would need days to practice the dancing alone.

I dont get it if Diana was allowed a pass why on earth cant lloyd.

I know people will be saying its unfair on other acts but it also seems very unfair on lloyd..

if lloyd didnt want to sing tonight due to his throat I am sure he would be allowed a free week

and if the doctor has given him the go ahead then what more can be said!

Jamie has had the virus too so I don't know what they are going to sound like both of them Bless.

Its still ridiculous that the other acts get 5 days and lloyd will have one.

This is what I was trying to say earlier in the week, Lloyd lost his voice, which means his larynx (voicebox) was affected. This is laryngitis. I'm gobsmacked they let him sing with hindsight, you'd think a specialist would have been able to work it out.
The vocal coach knew he wasn't fit to sing.

Why give him "footloose" and not softer song i have no idea..

You would think cheryl would be doing her best to make sure lloyd is not in the bottom 2 again with a song that would not strain him....but i fear he will just be there again tomorrow.

The reason why Diana was allowed because she was nearly always TOP on the voting, she was 3rd highest or 2nd EACH WEEK, so it was safe to assume she was going to go through the next week, i mean from one of the highest voted for 4 weeks then bottom 2 isn't really going to happen. Lloyd on the other hand was in the bottom 2 last week.. and maybe he was 7th or 8th in ranking the previous 3 weeks, so it would be unfair because there is a chance he'll be in the bottom 2 this week and its not fair for someone else to go when he could be in the bottom 2.

What on earth is that? Laryngitis isn't a virus, it's an inflammation of the vocal chords.

Thankyou, could have done with you last week

But maybe some throat infections / viruses are more likely to cause it? Don't know about that though.

If he can sing now, he has to sing. Diana would have been in the exact same situation were her throat have healed by the night but it didn't, so they had no alternative. Not bieng able to sing must try to be avoided at all costs, and Lloyd's situation is very much avoidable. They'll probably consider the fact that he had less practice.

I agree.
If he's going to be trying to sing footloose, it'll be a bigger nightmare than usual.
Best to just get rid of him without putting us through it

It should be straightforward, either he's fit to sing or he isn't. Hopefully he is tonight. Last Sunday he wasn't.

Besides Im sure he will be much better off getting the sympathy vote for performing with a bad throat than having the 'free pass' backlash that Diana suffered last year.

He could still do OK. If he is noticeably ill then I would not be suprised if this just gets him more sympathy votes.

Exactly, unlike Lloyd, who has been hovering close to the bottom, or in the bottom 2.

Also, Diana had not fully recovered when she returned to the show, and rehearsed her song, for Week 6, the night before the live show.

Nevertheless, in Week 6, Diana came 1st in the voting.

After being to ill to reherase all week now he is expected to perform an energetic dance number and sing as well. Its totally irresponsible on the producers to not intervene with the ridiculous song choice.

He can sing currently. People should be able to take into account he's had less time to prepare. Plus he's been in the bottom two so he doesn't deserve a free pass.

I feel sorry for him having to sing being so ill. Esp after last year with Diana not performing and then was seen screaming "TOFFEE APPLES" on the Xtra Factor.

I can see Lloyd coming near to the top of the voting this week, all his fans who didn't vote for him last week which resulted in him being in the bottom 2 will vote even more this week just like what happened with Danyl last week and Rachel the week before. Also people will feel sorry for him with his throat problem because I am sure it will be mentioned!!

On Sunday I read on here that his facebook page went into meltdown with people promising to vote for him, my 12 yr old cousin and her friends all love him and she told me she didn't vote last week but will be voting 10 times this week!

She's not even seen him peform yet, it really is his looks and this week the aaawwww he's poorly factor that is getting him through!

I am not posting this as a Lloyd hater, I actually quite like him he seems like a nice young lad and his voice isn't as bad as some make out, I also think he has been hindered because Cheryl has made some really bad song choices!

I do get the impression this is part of what happened, do you know why they didn't vote for him last week? Maybe his VT overegged his popularity and they thought he was safe? Just curious.

She didn't say, I think it might have been thinking he was safe to be honest plus she was at a Halloween party on the Saturday so don't know if that had anything to do with it even though she had Sunday to vote...

What would X Factor and ITV do if say 4 or 5 claim they have sore throats? it is unfortunate but they can't broadcast half a show and still someone gets knocked out!

So your cousion is voting for him even though she hasn't seen him sing? Tell her she's wasting her money

I'm pretty sure that if a doctor or some medical person said it was dangerous for him to sing, then he wouldn't be. They can't risk the media backlash if Lloyd does damage his vocal chords or whatever. Its not like he'll have had no rehearsal at all, he'll still have been able to practise a routine and run the song through in his head. The team have got experience of how to deal with contestants who can't rehearse as much. He'll be reet.
