Yes,, when he sings slow songs he puts a great deal of feeling into them so I really hope it goes well for him. But I'll be voting for him anyway

The only version I like other than the Righteous brothers is Roy Orbisons.. not sure what to make of this being his song, as my son and I read he was in fact doing Eye of the Tiger, there are too many bogus sites out there to be honest and none of them seem to agree on what the acts are doing.

If he does the U2 version, he'll do really well with it. Like C14E said, nobody has done it for ages on one of these shows, considering how much Cowell loves it.

I can't really see him doing the Robson and Jerome/Righteous Brothers version as it wouldn't suit him at all, it would be a car crash actually. I think it's more likely that he will do the U2 version or put his own spin on it. I think he will do well, it will bring out the emotion and sensitivity in his voice.

And Jimmy Young did an even better job of it in 1955, which is even further back in the dim and distant past.

I agree they need to do there *own* versions of the songs that way people may see what they have to give to the world of music and vote for them on that fact, as surely if you want to buy someones album you want them to be them, not a carbon copy of someone else.
