Laila and Anton's paso way better than Ali and Brian's last week?
Am I the only one who thinks so?

I'm biased but I feel Laila isn't getting many favours from the judges.

I think its another case of the judges watching something different to us. I thought she was great.

I loved it. I did think it was better than Brian and Ali, but I suppose she had a poorly foot. And Anton did put in a bit of a lift. It wasn't really much of a throw, imo.

It looked better to my very untrained eye.

I really loved their Paso. It had the potential to be great - it was beautiful and passionate. Laila did lose the drive in the middle though, which was a shame. I thought Anton was marvellous.
And it moved and excited me far more than Ali's I'm afraid, which didn't make a big impression on me. |

I agree, or maybe she's just the better actress? However I found it much better than Ali's, more passion, attack and I simply enjoyed it more.
Proved to me the judges have favourites! |

I'm so glad someone made this thread, Laila's Paso Doble was my second favourite dance of the series. (I'm biased of course) but she did better than Ali did on her Paso.

I thought it was great and she should be very proud of it. She danced it well and performed it an awful lot better than Ali.

She acted it better but I found the choreography really boring and repetitive.

It's my favourite dance of the series so far. I was totally entranced.
It was full of impact. Deserved 9's across the board as far as I'm concerned. |

Agreed Lailas paso was a lot better then Alis, if she could have kept the drive all through the dance it would have been even better but as it was one of my fav pasos and one of my fav dances of the night.

Lailas Paso was far better than Ali's. Ali smiled right through her Paso, smiling in a Paso!!! WTF!

Loved it! Lots of attack and oomph. My favourite paso of the series (though obviously Groves' was kind of awesome in its own weird way).

I thought Laila's acting performance (and her dress as well) was brilliant, but the dancing was a little bit static and wooden for me.
I think the performance element hid a number of dance "sins". Her mark and place on the leader board was just about right for me. |

It was the only good Paso in the series IMO.

It was very, very good, but I think you can still tell Laila isn't as good a dancer as Ali. She's a beautiful woman and a good sport and I like her, but I think Ali is the more natural dancer. And she did have a bit of an injury last week.

She's just had more practice - having done extensive ballet training in the past. If Laila had had as much experience, I bet she'd be just as good. |

I agree. Ali's a better dancer but it was a really poor paso last week. Laila was much better, although she needs to work on her posture.
