It has taken the public 5 years to persuade the Beeb to revisit Blackpool. How was tonight for you? should the Beeb revisit in future?

Please give your mark out of 10 for Blackpool, poll requested from the Mods.

I'll give it a 9 (I don't give 10s out very often). The best show since the series 5 finale.

9 out of 10. If it weren't for the cringeworthy embarrasment of hearing Bruce and Tess wittering in the background while Rod Stewart was singing a cappella, it would be a 10.

10 for the best show of the year so far, 1 for the sound quality ruining it.

Best show of the series by a country mile. 9.5

Totally agree about the sound quality especially at the beginning

As much as I'm sad that my favourite professional dancer is no longer in the show I thought tonight's Strictly was fantastic, the atmosphere in the Tower Ballroom seemed incredible . If only they could do the show in Blackpool each week......

I'd give it a 9, again knocking a point off for the slightly dodgy sound quality .

I agree with many of the others - 9 for the unfortunate sound quality issues. That cavernous room is not built to be a TV studio.

I am still excited

I'll give it a 7.

I don't know about the sound quality, but the guitarist really cocked up on a couple of songs, it sounded like it only had one slack string left.

Edit: to be fair I'll up that to 9, for the sheer pleasure of seeing Flavia looking so pleased at Craig being given the boot.

9.5 (-.5 for the sound problems on HD).

Given that I live here in Blackpool there's always an awful lot I dislike about the town. The stag/hen parties, the general state of the town's buildings and the never ending nostalgia for a period in the town's history that is never coming back. The two things Blackpool should be rightfully proud of though are the Grand Theatre and the Tower Ballroom. I've seen a few of the pros there doing their cabaret evenings at the ballroom and they've all remarked on what a joy it is to dance there. The room itself is incredible to be in and well worth a visit if you're ever here.

I thought the BBC did a stunning job lighting and shooting the ballroom that made it look like the jewel it is. The crowd were superb and the contestants & professionals alike were visibly lifted by both the venue and the reception. Great to see Jill there as well. And the rendition of 'Maybe I'm Amazed', the first dance I had with my wife on our wedding day.

One of those precious few times when all concerned got it right and produced a fantastic show in a fantastic venue. Made the usual London studio shows seem pedestrian and constrained. Thanks BBC for making me feel proud of the town for the first time in years!

10 - best show for a very long time, I loved the shows back in the early series when they went to Blackpool, and the magic that I felt from the shows at Blackpool returned this evening, amazing atmosphere and it looked magnificent - I think I'd enjoy the whole series more if more shows were done at Blackpool.

Another 9 that would have been a 10 if it weren't for the sound problems.

8 with tongue in cheek. Two things were missing, a serious wardrobe malfunction and Bruce having to re-start his number after missing his intro. So not enough hilarity, despite Alesha vs Craig.

Really more like a nine.

I'll give it a 9, for the same sound issues as everyone else has said

Next week they'll have to do some serious work to have a more glamorous event. Otherwise it will be like getting into a Morris Minor when you've just got out of a Bentley.

They'd nearly need to have a duet wtih Elvis Presely and Michael Jackson and guest dancing by Alesha, Ramps, Spangles, The Halfpenny, Gough and Chambers.
