They were harsh but the performance was dire beyond belief. He had a free pass into this week at the expense of someone much better than him. That was an opportunity to shine. He didn't - he actually got worse.
That's not the point. The point is that Zoe was last week, she was supposed to be commenting on his dance this week, not whining about having to make a difficult choice last week and throwing a tantrum at him over it.

She should have confined herself to commenting on his dance, what she actually did was petulant, childish and just plain rude.

Sometimes it's a good idea not to say what you are thinking. Especially when you are supposed to be doing a professional job. And especially when thinking isn't your strong point.
Have you made the same comment about Craig, Bruno, Len, when they have made similar comments - as they all did about John Seargent, Fiona Phillips, Kate whathername, etc? Well? Or is it just Alesha that hasn't got the right to say what she thinks? Double, no, Triple Standards, yes.

I thought she was spot on. The fact that Craig thought he was so good was laughable

I rarely start threads - but her comments tonight incensed me

Surely it's an unwritten rule that each week, every contestant starts with a clean slate. Never can I recall any judge harking back to the results of a previous week. She then added insult to injury with her patronising and hypocritical "you've been very sweet my love."

Go back to singing my love.
Really - so how do you explain last week's comment to Chris & Ola that they were back to where they were in week 1?

He was given a chance by the public last week to shine at the expense of someone much better than him. He didn't seize the opportunity - he got worse.

Yes indeed instead of brains, class, taste and anything more than a vague knowledge about dancing. The woman is a total joke. I am annoyed with myself for actually listening to the silly rude bint!!

The irony being of course that these posts are far bitchier than anything she said...

She's not supposed to be doing either of those things - she is supposed to be judging the celebs. She was accurately honest.
It's what we understood her role to be.

She's not qualified for much else.

Well i didnt mind her tbh. I stuck up for her when she was getting all that stick and people were basically kicking her to the ground.

Always thought she was a lovely person, well what i have seen of her but after that comment ''i had to endure that'' i am not so sure. Sounded so nasty, especially when you watch it again. He was shite but no need for that, come on. I mean, even Bruno felt it, thats why he said ''Craig my darling'' or something like that, when it was his turn.

Spot on in my opinion, Craig should have gone weeks ago and robbed a better dancer of a place at Blackpool...Go Alesha

does anyone think aleshia comments were harsh about mention zoe being off the show when she was talking to craig??????
Not so much harsh - more cruel and vindicative.

Totally and completely unprofessional, and in my opinion, just plain nasty. I was quite sickened by it actually.

Far too harsh. She needs to learn how to be tactful. She's supposed to be impartial, which means not attacking the dancers for the crime of being voted for by the public.
I totally agree with you. The other judges were critical of the dance, but that is what the judges are supposed to do. That was a horrible comment to make and, much as I agree that it was Craig's time to go, and that Zoe was a better dancer, it is not right to blame him for being there due to the public vote.

Yes, I don't think the judges have the right to make rude or personal comments about anyone.

Constructive criticism yes, that's what they're there for, not to throw a tantrum at someone just because they've got the public vote and are still there.

and me. I am really disappointed because I really liked her but I went off her tonight and then to try and be nice to Craig was sickening.

She let her feelings run away with her and I hope somebody will have a word in her ear about what is acceptable.

No, for giving an honest opinion - an opinion that, I would guess, at least 90% of viewers agreed with including me. Zoe should never have gone over someone like him.

I thought it was disgraceful. Craig didn't vote Zoe out last week, she just sounded plain nasty.

Get rid of her and get Karen Hardy in.

No, Craig just could not see that he wasn't a dancer, something had to be made to be fair

Neither poster is being paid to give their opinion, and neither has any obligation to pretend to be impartial.

She's hardly the first judge to deliver a bitchy comment...but it came over as a bit more of a personal attack...intentional or not.

So people, will I keep a note of those who criticise Alesha this week for her comments, but do not do so when any of the other three give equally honest, if not desired, opinions in the future?

For the first time since she became a judge I agreed with her comments! Well said Alesha.

And those who are criticising her, I hope you also whinge about bruno, Len and Craig, who make equally harsh (but often true) comments.
It was no worse than CRH's 'Kangaroo' comment only more cutting...and I totally agreed with every word IMO she is getting better as a judge
