Maybe, but she's a bit more experienced at judging now so perhaps she has learnt you have to put any emotions to one side and be objective. It would have been very difficult for any of the judges to have lavished praise on Craig tonight because he was simply awful.
Alesha lost her favourite last week (whom she'd been biased towards all series) and decided to take it out on Craig. |

I'm with you OP. Patronising, ignorant and unprofessional.
thought she was well out of order with her comments with him tonight, she was very personal and rude. |

I thought she was spot on. The fact that Craig thought he was so good was laughable

It was no worse than CRH's 'Kangaroo' comment only more cutting...and I totally agreed with every word IMO she is getting better as a judge

No, for giving an honest opinion - an opinion that, I would guess, at least 90% of viewers agreed with including me. Zoe should never have gone over someone like him.
But what did Zoe going have to do with Craig's dance? A very spiteful comment from her. |

They were harsh but the performance was dire beyond belief. He had a free pass into this week at the expense of someone much better than him. That was an opportunity to shine. He didn't - he actually got worse.

I rarely start threads - but her comments tonight incensed me
![]() Surely it's an unwritten rule that each week, every contestant starts with a clean slate. Never can I recall any judge harking back to the results of a previous week. She then added insult to injury with her patronising and hypocritical "you've been very sweet my love." Go back to singing my love. Be incensed away, you're entitled; just as I am in agreeing with her honest opinion. |

I have no problem with Craig going home, but I have a huge problem with the comments that Alesha made. I found it totally unprofessional and quite savage - made even worse by her hypocritcal 'my love' at the end. She is supposed to be there because she understands how the contestants feel. |

Have you made the same comment about Craig, Bruno, Len, when they have made similar comments - as they all did about John Seargent, Fiona Phillips, Kate whathername, etc? Well? Or is it just Alesha that hasn't got the right to say what she thinks? Double, no, Triple Standards, yes.

Alesha lost her pet last week and decided to unleash her anger on Craig tonight.
The nurturing role she claimed she was playing has quickly disappeared. |

Nope, I thought she was right on, and it is no different from what a lot of us have been saying on here all week....!
(I would say that personally I agree with her but that is by the way) It is the old story that they have given the public a vote and the public kept Craig last week. If she doesn't want to endure watching a dancer then she should pack it in - I doubt she will be missed. |

I was incensed too. I think the comments should have been delivered in a more impersonal way (but then that's a common fault with the judges).
Firstly Craig was not personally responsible for Zoe's dismissal and so that shouldn't have been brought up. If Zoe hadn't gone last week, she probably would have gone this week anyway - given her vote base, she wasn't going to make it to the final. Of course, it is a fair point to say that Craig lacks a self awareness regarding his dancing, but a better way to frame the comment would be to suggest that he takes a more critical look at his performance - maybe watch the recording and compare with previous cha chas. Len gets a lot of criticism but he'd already said what needed to be said. I think she was also patronising to Laila, calling it a good attempt. |

Craig did not send Zoe home so that Alesha had to 'endure' his dancing.
Totally out of order! |

Absolutely uncalled for in my opinion. She has clearly forgotten what its like to stand before the judges. It was said with no humour whatsoever. Absolute disgrace imho.

Maybe she is peed off with his attitude. I do think he needs telling that he is not as good as he 'seems' to think he is, for his own sake and for Flavia's, not to mention the other dancers. Did anyone notice the look she gave to the camera in their farewell dance at the end?

Not so much harsh - more cruel and vindicative.
Totally and completely unprofessional, and in my opinion, just plain nasty. I was quite sickened by it actually. Hope you're feeling better

She's my least favourite judge by a margin...but FWIW my advice is to get 'incensed' about something important.
Alesha deserves criticism but, as usual, some people are going way OTT. |

She was very harsh tonight. It was jarring, no need to be that nasty to Craig.

I think she was out of line, but all the judges have said regrettable things on SCD at one point or another.
She's generally less awful now, it must be said, but I still can't take her very seriously. |

Hopefully all these threads on this will be consolidated soon.
Alesha was bang out of order. She is there to judge Craig's dance and to rank him relative to the other dancers - she needs to remember that. To bring Zoe's departure up was the bad part - it had absolutely nothing to do with Craig's dance. The bit about having to endure the dance is about as bad as what Bruno has said, and I would say its overly harsh. |
