Good on anyone who complained to the BBC.
It's also about the viewers and general standards of how we speak to each other in public and maintaining that lapses in judgement should be followed by a gracious apology.
Or else it's a free-for-all.

Totally agree with you. I have always said there is no point in moaning about something if you are not prepared to do anything about it. I felt better after I had sent off my complaint but, sadly, I cannot see an apology coming from Alesha.

Craig was never shown much love on the main part of the forum, I agree, but for some curious reason his appreciation thread was better attended than other celeb's by far. Trying to cheer Bhoy1888 up I actually posted figures 3 weeks ago (when Craig, Zoe and Jo were still part of the show) and Craig's thread had more than double the replies of the next current appreciation thread - Ali and Brian.

Craig - 1,528
Ali - 762
Natalie - 638
Chris - 356
Jo - 229
Jade - 175
Laila - 157
Phil - 122
Ricky G - 89
Ricky W - 77
Zoe - 58

Let me also point out that at the time of posting these figures, Bhoy had not contributed to the Craig appreciation thread once (I made a point of checking as I felt he may have contributed to this huge lead).

.
I would say 99% of those posts are made by serious fans of Flavia so really wouldn`t take the number of posts as a sign of Craig`s popularity at all. A more accurate sign of a celeb`s popularity would the the favourite and least favourite polls where only one vote each is allowed.

Besides the point that I wasnt trying to make out Craig was hugely popular on these forums, I would say with 99% certainty that you havent read much, if any, of Craig's appreciation thread.

I complained to the BBC too. I didn't ask for or want a reply. I simply wanted my displeasure at what I saw as a reaction highly coloured by personal feeling towards a situation (and, therefore, the celeb whom she felt was most responsible for said situation) which I thought unprofessional.

I didn't want Alesha sacked (nor was I delusionary enough to think that could ever happen) but I hoped that if enough people complained about the reaction, a quiet word would be said and Alesha would realise that she needed to think before she spoke. I hope this has happened.

And for anyone believing that I or anyone else who complained should "get a life", I did not want Alesha to think that her comments were acceptable. It may well be that she made one unwise outburst due to a situation she found untenable and that this one remark would have been an exception. However, it may not. There is more and more chance as the series progresses that good dancers will be in the dance off and less good ones will stay. So far, Alesha has not shown herself to be particularly adept at accepting that situation. If the complaints about her have resulted in a quiet admonition behind the scenes and have gone any way to making Alesha reflect on her comments then they were worth it. Despite reservations about her position as a judge from many, a lot of her comments make plenty of sense. What she said about Craig's actual dance was fair enough.

I thought you were trying to prove he was popular by the no. of posts on his and Flavia`s appreciation thread.

Apologise if I mis-understood you

No - I certainly haven`t read his appreciation thread.

Alesha should really be asking herself if she, while she was competing last year would have liked that kind of comment aimed at her from any of the judges? I highly doubt she would have liked it one bit. So much for her "i've been in their shoes and know what they are going through" statement.

Can you please explain on what basis you "say 99% of those posts are made by serious fans of Flavia" or is is just a made-up figure that suits your position?

I see quite a lot of claims on boards of figures, but rarely anything to substantiate them. Smokeychan1 at least provided some basis, but I can't see how you arrived at 99%.

It's not you place to tell other FMs to move on, you can of course feel free to follow your own directive and move on.
I understand this, and was only endorsing what others have said in my comments. I intend to leave this thread alone from now.

But I only came on to make a very simple point, and it's not intended to mean "Get a life" as someone else said. I just want to point out that it would be better to expend that energy making your views known to the BBC raher than being vitriolic here if you feel that strongly.

Flavia does have a huge following. I didn't like the way she pulled faces whilst Craig was speaking. It looked rather disloyal to me.

It's a world in which basic manners (often meaning keeping your mouth firmly shut) are no longer held in such high regard. These days honesty and openness are highly values. This means that Alesha is applauded by some for saying it as she sees it despite her comments being uncalled-for. Flavia entertains people who didn't have much time for Craig by making clear her disrespect. She's paid to teach him. We don't need to know if she feels he's delusional.

Can't people try to treat others in as kind a manner as possible?

Absolutely.

If the issue people have is Alesha herself, then constantly bleating on about it here is pretty pointless. It might make you feel better in some way, but it won't CHANGE anything. The BBC appointed her as a judge, and it's the BBC that will decide if she comes back next year. Does anybody really think that the BBC read these boards, let alone take any notice??? Her future on the show WILL NOT be decided by a few people repeating the same monotonous whining on a forum that is likely to be unrepresentative of the GBP. If you want the BBC to hear you, you need to talk to them. If they feel she works well, they will keep her next year, if they don't then they won't. Constantly whinnying on here that she blinks too much, you don't like her grammar, she was uncharacteristically rude to someone or the fact that she didn't roll over and die when criticised here is getting boring. IF you want to get rid of her GO TALK TO THE BBC - SHE'S THEIR EMPLOYEE!

Time to move on.
I agree but I do hope some Executive at the BBC has given the stroppy moo a slap over the knuckles and given her a warning that if she speaks to a contestant like that again she will be in serious trouble. The powers-that-be enabled Anton du Beke to make a public apology for a remark he made that was not broadcast and what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander - especially as Alesha Dixon's rant was live .

On each thread if you click on the number of posts, it shows how many posts each person contributed to that particular thread - most of the Craig and Flavia posts were made by the same people who post on the Matt and Flavia ATs and the Flavia ATs - simples . <maybe 99% was a bit high but not far off the mark imo>

I am in no way knocking Flavia or her fans in fact she is my favourite female pro, I just don`t contribute to her ATs

I quoted the "Get a life" mantra but it was in no way intended as a dig at you. I'm fairly sure someone actually did tell anyone who had complained (a few hundred posts ago ) to get a life; it was this attitude I was responding to.

I think she was confused by what he was on about more than anything. I really don't think she was purposefully pulling faces.

Yep you're totally right to be honest, a lot of their support on here is from Flavia fans. I think she handled Craig far better than she is given credit for, and they got on better than people seem to think. That said I loved Craig from Queer As Folk as well.

As for Alesha's comments last week, they crossed a line certainly. However, the judges are always crossing the line for me, expecially Bruno this series. That said there have been many times I have felt the judges should apologise to people (Len still should apologise to Kelly Brook as far as I'm concerned for pointing and bellowing at her).

I think Flavia was just a bit uncomfortable TBH, standing there KNOWING the judges are going to have a go every week can't be good. But I also remember saying to my family when Craig went out that I think Flavia might be relieved - Craig must have been pretty hard to teach if he kept on thinking he was doing marvellous all the time

Oh and as for Bruno! He is getting right on my wick this year. He is the biggest b!tch on the panel for sure. I hate the way when he gives a scathing remark to a contestant he turns away from them with his hand on his face, grrrr It's a totally dismissive gesture and not nice People can't help it if they can't dance or have no rhythm FGS! And IMO all that fuss with Craig R-H, Len and Bruce about Jo the other week was started by Bruno but he got off Scott-free! Bruno rant over!

I also remember Len with poor Kelly. He was horrible to her (I seem to remember Arlene being involved to) and didn't we then we find out a few days later that her Dad was on his deathbed, no wonder her heart wasn't in her dancing
