Her comments were totally uncalled for I really felt for Craig at that point, no need for that really went off her.

And WHY after all this time can we not get her name right in a thread????
She said what most of us feel - he should have gone a long time ago. We now have reached the point where all the dead wood has been cut out. It would have been a travesty if he remained. I actually agree Arlene (for once) - he DOES have the personality of a sand dune. |

Well done Alesha for saying what needed saying - and it was no worse than a lot of the things Craig, Len, Bruno AND Arlene have said over the years.

Ignazio and Missfrankiecat I agree with you so completely. I was absolutely appalled by Alesha tonight. I rarely comment if I don't like something on here - I usually prefer to focus on the positive - but she really did offend me tonight.
What you say above is absolutely right. Cornchips, I agree with you too. I am no fan of Craig Kelly - in fact, he made the "red mist" descend with me, and I had to really battle with myself when posting on my own thread (we like to do reports on the dances each week and I had to choose not to say anything about Craig's because I didn't trust myself not to be unfair) - but Alesha, in the position of a judge, should be professional and yet still state the truth, as Len did tonight - it wasn't nice - because Craig was obviously clearly poor (and it has to be said, deluded!) but Len said it in as truthful and as kind a way as he could without kicking someone who was clearly the weakest dancer. There can be little doubt in the majority of people's minds that Craig WAS the weakest dancer and should have been the one to go - I think few would disagree with that - but to say "because Zoe went last week and I had to endure THAT" is unprofessional, unkind, and crass at best. Even though Craig was dreadful, there is a better way to say it than that. Alesha then compounded her unprofessionalism by being patronising - I found her "you were very sweet my love" just appalling in view of how actually nasty and unprofessional she had just been - and I really found myself actively disliking her. I didn't want to - I am very much in the Cutler camp and I loved her partnership with Matt - but since then my opinion of her has increasingly sunk, and now is at rock bottom. I think you are right Cornchips - she WAS rude and crass - and I wish she'd never taken the job. On a night when Strictly was in such a beautiful place, the home of dance, she tainted it for me with her crassness and I couldn't help wishing for her to have been more sensitive in her comments whilst still speaking the truth. I don't like Craig, as I say, and I think it is right he went - but they all work so hard every week, that whether they are good or not, they do not deserve that kind of put down - which is so completely dismissive of everything they have tried for and I think each celeb deserves some respect for that at least, even if they are poor. I don't like feeling and speaking in this way - but I really cannot help how I feel about her now. Poor show Alesha - I thought you'd have been better than that. You actually disgust me and I wish you hadn't come back. That sums up my feelings totally. I think she left a bitter taste in the mouth with her comments and I hope that she knows how people feel about her. I loved it when she won and I generally like her music but, as you say, your support has reached rock bottom. I think she has lost alot of supporters tonight. Bring on the ducking stool. |

Alesha's comment about Craig was not personal, it was about his dancing and she was 100% correct.

I have defended Alesha's right to be on the panel in the past and over the series as a whole she has certainly been no worse than the others in terms of harshness but I cannot countenance the manner in which she commented on Craig tonight. Had she said something similar to what Len said I would have been fine with it.

You actually disgust me and I wish you hadn't come back. Goodness knows, I thought Craig should have gone weeks ago, but the reason he hasn't gone is either because he has been saved by the judges in the dance off, or because more people voted for him than voted for other dancers. When Alesha complained of having to "endure" his dance, was she having a go at Craig (illogical) or the voting public? If it was the voters, has she forgotten that it was because of the voters that she won series 5? I was really enjoying tonight's show. Coming from Blackpool really did make a difference to the atmosphere, but that was all spoilt for me because of Alesha's crass spitefulness. |

The whole point of Alesha is that she's not another professional judge. She's there to say what she thinks and be more positive - unless there's not much anyone could say thats positive - and to give the contestant's view. Most contestants would think it unfair that a hopeless person was lingering on and the better people were going because of them. Craig has worked up that support so he's hardly an innocent party. Alesha's been hired to encourage more than Arlene did but to be honest when dire people are past their sellby date . People didn't like Arlene saying it so her job is to say it in a way they think more people will follow - subtlety didn't work before so she tried being blunt. Seems to have worked.
She may have not have been hired as a professional judge in terms of dancing but she should still know to keep her comments at least relatively impersonal. She sounded as if she had many unresolved personal issues tonight and was taking them out on Craig which is not on imo. As for what she said working, I disagree. I think Craig was always going to go tonight. The public got on board with the Blackpool story but I'd have been very surprised to see him go further - after all he was in a couple of dance offs before the "I just wanna get to Blackpool" palaver kicked in. I think Craig went tonight in spite of Alesha's comments not because of them. |

Craig did not send Zoe home so that Alesha had to 'endure' his dancing.
Totally out of order! |

I think she was really nasty, the "you're not as good as you think you are comment" was really unreasonable, as well as the other things she said.

I loved her this evening!
She really hit home with Craig (excuse the pun) regarding his blatent dilusional approach to this Cha Cha but then managed to soften the blow by giving him the sympathy exit speach in the D/O. The woman's got balls I'll give her that. 8 weeks and she's the first one to really say it to him straight - it saw the end of him aswell. |

I've tried to defend her, but tonight she really annoyed me
![]() I thought she was very cruel to Craig, and there was no need to throw Zoe going at him, it wasn't his fault he wasn't in the bottom two last week! She's not done herself any favours by being a judge at all. |

I agree with so many of the comments on this thread. I was watching it on my own and actually (and embarrassingly) gasped out loud to no-one, I was so shocked with what she said. It was disrespectful to Craig and also to the viewing audience as we're the ones that had decided either Ali or Zoe were going home. She knew the deal, someone has to go and it may not be her choice. It made me feel she thought we are idiots and saying "had to endure that" sounded like she was speaking about Craig as a piece of s**t - I'm sure she meant the dance but it did sound personal.
I think the right person went but I think Alesha should follow shortly in his footsteps but we don't get a vote in that! And don't even get me started on her grammar....![]() ![]() ![]() ... and breathe.

Alesha Dixon won a series of SCD. BIG DEAL. She's got rhythm and she can dance but that does not give her the credentials to be taken seriously as a judge!!
She's way out of her depth. Apart from the fact that she can't string a sentence together properly - "You was nervous tonight, wasn't you?", "You wasn't comfortable was you," - What gives her the right to slate someone who may not have natural ability but has tried his best throughout to become a competent dancer? We expect it of Craig but for Alesha to start, I think the BBC have made a grave mistake in employing her. Alesha Dixon is not an expert. She's danced Latin and Ballroom for a few months and this does not give her the right or skill base to criticise people in the way she's starting to. If I was one of the professionals having to stand there and listen to her drivvle about my partner, I don't think I'd be able to hold my tongue. Do yourselves a favour BBC and GET RID of Dixon!!

I thought Alesha was very rude tonight - there is a way of putting your opinion across without descending so low.

When aAlesha sits down and thinks about what she said she may realise that she was too strong in her comments. Hopefully she will have the grace to apologise to Craig for her comments

However bad Craig was there was no need to let her personal relationship with one of the contestants colour her remarks. She did not need to do that and showed that she just does not have the necessary experience to do the job.Judges must be unbiased and judge purely on what they see. |
