It was lovely to watch, but wasn't worth 40.
It only served to highlight how over marked they were, or how under marked Chris and Ola were a bit later on. On the basis of what Ali and Brian did, I thought Chris and Ola deserved higher. |

I thought Alli and Brian's dance was gorgous tonight I enjoyed every minute and thought it did deserve the perfect score. Alli is a gorgous ballroom dancer to watch

As for those who thought they were marking her UP to save her - rubbish! They didn't need to. What did Ricky get, 35? They could've given her four 9s and she still would've been as safe as she was with 4 10s.
I don't think she got 40 because she was in the dance off. I think she got 40 because she was doing the dance that is so incredibly HER. The moment I saw her dance in the first week I thought "My god, she needs to get to VW week". Four 9's would still have put her top of the leaderboard and most likely kept her there when you consider her biggest threat (Ricky) had already danced and been given 35. The scoring system has been pretty absurd for a few series now and it is a shame that a perfect score doesn't feel quite as celebrated as it once was. That said, I wouldn't take anything away from Ali's score. I prefer that to Rachel Steven's Foxtrot, which scored perfectly and same with Matt Di Angelo's Waltz. To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if at some point in the next series or so, we have a perfect score in a very early week. Surely it doesn't surprise us though? It would amaze me if we managed to get through a series now where a 40 isn't given, or at least saved for the semi finals/finals. |

Let's face it, it's not the most difficult dance, despite what the judges might say. Proof of that is quite simple..how many terrible VW's do you see every year ? Therefore, I think to merit a 10, the pair should elevate the dance to something extra special..in that respect, close but not quite would have been my verdict. I also agree that Chris was under-marked, he was better than Ricky W last night. That Tango was a bit of a mess in my opinion, not helped by a poor choice of music ?..and I have been a Ricky supporter on here. |

Anton's dance was a Paso (I didn't like the music choice).
I think someone has used Golden Brown but my memory isn't the best. ![]() |

It was good but not great lacked something for a 40, dont know whether it was the music but wasnt magical for me, i would have said 4 9's would have been about right, but there is a lot of overmarking this series imo.

Just goes to prove the old adage of One mans meat etc., I find Ali extreemly bland and boring. I thought it was over marked.

I did love Ali's VW, and it did look technically perfect to me (although i'm no expert
)However, i prefer Alesha's VW overall and wouldn't have marked Ali higher, but that' s just my opinion. |

It was totally mistake-free dance which is presumably why they scored tens, but wasn't it rather a simple and a relatively slow VW ? Surely that make it easier to perform.
This is an observation rather than a criticism. It's an understandable approach considering all of the foot drama. |

It was a beautiful dance. I wouldnt have given it a 40 as I noticed a very teeny tiny minor stumble but it was still very romantic and had beautiful movement. Ali has the best lines out of any female who has ever been on SCD.

I cant stop watching this on BBCi. The VT and everything about the segment was perfect. Bruno's comments brought a tear to my eye.

I really liked their dance, to my untrained eye it was faultless but it didn't wow me. I didn't feel the emotion as I did with Matthew's & Alesha's and if I was honest I think I preferred Anton's & Laila's last week. Perhaps technically it was worth the perfect score of 40 but as a performance I was left waiting for more.

The problem I have with Ali is that though all the steps are there and performed well, (more so in ballroom than latin) I just don't feel anything. She smiles her way through it all but there is no inner emotion shining out. For me at least.

Thought it was wonderful but they are in my fave couples list. So great to see them rise from the ashes of last week and put it totally behind them i hope they are in the final!

I thought it was beautiful. I am now waiting for the wow factor in the latin, that will seal them as my No. 1 couple
