Olly morphed into R Wayne off the Peter Kay spoof...I thought he was going to finish with a YMCA routine...

Yep, John Lennon's vocal is submitted to the dustbin of history

It was entertaining, even if the highlight was the dancer sprawling on her a*se halfway through

I do not get Olly AT ALL. Although I accept that he can sing a bit, I find the "artistic" elements of his performances, such as they are, almost embarrassingly incongruous. He reminds me of some builder bloke from down the pub.

Well it was the best on tonight's show, so if that didn't please you then nothing will.

Sung, performed and entertained - what more can be expected?

He is also the one that has grown with the show whilst others have peaked and are just waiting to be put down.

Nice, happy and a good performance.

They only say a load of garbage in their VTs just to up the tension... I swear even if they're completely happy with their performance they'll make up some problem to bring a story out of it, I can't remember what was said but I definitely felt that way with what was said in Lucie's VT today.

I love Olly but no-one can make Twist and Shout, their own. Not a great song choice for him, very limited lyrics. But I thought he did a great performance, always looks comfortable up there.

I agree but don't think it was a great performance either.
He needs something that can stretch him, this felt like a backward step to me, Why not a bond theme like Man With The Golden Gun or View To A Kill

Yeah feeling retro can see him singing Play That Funky Music soon the way things are going where he should try a Will Young track maybe Leave Right Now

I think he always gives a great performance, whatever is thrown at him. But yes, he should be stretched, definitely. It didn't stretch him at all this week.

I have always wanted a Bond theme week.

What the heck were they doing the Thriller dance in the middle of it for?

He didn't make it his own as far as I could see - was a mishmash on the original with a few extra foot moves.

Lennon meets MJ meets James Brown.

It was the dance move from the film the song was taken from.

Completely disagree to be honest I thought it was utter shite.
Dated, predictable, kareoke and dull.

Although a likeable, cheeky chappie, Olly Murs is not a pop/singing sensation.

Whilst Simon accuses Jo McElderry of being more for the stage, he should take a look at Olly before he states that. Olly does not have a powerful vocal. He is just OK for something like a West End production of Grease. Nothing more.

I like Olly and he's entertaining too. As he was girating in that suit, all I could think of was a Salesman at a dinner dance!

You can go to any Butlins and see many Olly type singers!! this is Not the Olly that we saw in auditions!! the dancer last night distract away from him as the camera follows them as much!

You need to have a powerful voice to sing in the West End. That's why the judges, especially Simon and Louis, criticise Joe - they think his voice is more suited to musicial theatre because it's so strong. I love musical theatre and have been to West End shows loads of times and if someone as weak as Olly was in a show, no way would I go to it!

I agree actually. Joe is my favourite male vocalist in the show. He could do anything and is deserving to be on the world stage, whilst Olly does not.

I do believe a male vocal will win X Factor this year. It would be so wrong for it to be Olly. He is not strong vocally.

I somehow can hear Olly doing something like this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5XX9LX2es4

About time music like that got back into the charts - so why not Olly?

His dancing last night made me think of an embarassing dad at a wedding.

I can see why all the females are voting for him though. He would be a nice guy to be with.

Simon is topping up Olly's weak vocals with stage production and dance.
