Can Chris emulate Darren and be a popular winner whilst not the best dancer?

I just see a lot of similarities between Darren and Chris where I feel they both are good dancers but in both their years there definitely was a lot better dancers.

I think with the right campaign (Heh I can help with that as I got Craig to Blackpool )and the public behind him Chris can go on and win SCD like Daren did

Of course he has the advantage over Darren too of having Ola dancing with him rather than the slightly chubbier Lilla shall we say (Trying to be kind thee )

With Ola's body and Chris's sense of humour I think they can win this thing.

Do any of you agree?

Also what can we do if anything to help this happen?

You've more chance of the £50 dinner with Chris Bhoy1888. Tonight was the dance a lot of people have been waiting for from him. We know he has the public support and with tonight's dance he will have won back a lot of those who were beginning to doubt him.

100% in agreement.

I don't dislike Chris but it will get on my nerves if he wins and doesn't improve. In fact, I don't care. I'm just happy Laila got through to next week!

I'm a Team Cola supporter and would love to see Ola and Chris lift that glitter ball, the best partnership this year,Chris can dance, has a fantastic personality, and isn't a drama queen he gets on with the job,and I do think he and Ola have been undermarked on occassions.

The celebs must be dreading finding out who you're going to champion next, Jonah 1888

Well one thing YOU can do is not to start thread after thread about Chris like you did about Craig or it will get up peoples noses.

There is nothing you can do to ensure a victory except vote and keep him out of the dance off.

Hi,

Went to Blackpool yesterday and met some of the stars of the show outside the stage door and just wanted everyone to know how wonderful Chris Hollins was to everyone. While everyone we met was lovely, he went that went extra mile with his fans. He was such a sweetheart, taking the time to chat to pretty much everyone and posing for photos. He was absolutely brilliant, definitely has my vote

I will only start a team Cola thread if a topic is required to be discussed and digested on hear

In many ways Chris is the ideal contestant. He has no previous dance or sports training, has a great sense of humour, has a lovely partnership with Ola, is gracious towards the public who have supported him and is not arrogant. I do see some similarities with Darren who I voted for at the time. Darren's show dance was spectacular whatever anyone says about Colin being the better dancer.

I'd like to see Chris and Ali in the Final.

Interesting - it definitely sounded by the audience's reaction that he may have had more fans than most there so impressive if he took a lot of time with all of them. I really hope he gets to the final - the foxtrot was fantastic last night and he seems to be enjoying it so much.

Bhoy - just as a matter of interest - was Chris the next lowest odds you got. And if so, please - less is more - cheers from a from the start Chris fan.

I got 10/1 for Chris but put £5 on him rather than the £3 I had on Craig at 25/1.

I also got a bet on Laila of £3 at 10/1 so they are my third choice to win if Chris falls next

Interesting - are they on different odds now? If last night is anything to go by, I expect his may be less than Laila's now.

He's played both Football and Cricket to a high standard. Although as that's not his most recent endeavour it is true that he doesn't fit into the category for sportsman.

In short, yes.

And if he makes the final against Ali and Ricky, I'll be doing my bit to ensure he and Ola lift that Glitter Ball.

Just want to add that his Foxtrot wasn't far off from the standard of Ballroom dancing we've seen from the two front runners.

I thought it was excellent, although perhaps not as technically good as Ali but the song choice made it a lot more fun to watch.

Sid, if that happens then Ali FTW!

I think all the odds are roughly the same as they were

Darren improved and had the growth story. Darren was very macho but added the softer dancer story to it (The Billy Eliot +/standard Mills and Boone story) The gap between him and the others at the end wasn't that big, Zoe was a girl and Darren didn't do a silly show dance.

Chris is hardly macho - we have heard about mother a lot and Ola is mothering him too. He's not inproving much, more like going up and down from where he started. He's nowhere near the top 2 for difficulty and they havn't yet got a song that allows them to use their acting ability. He's up against the alpha male reality TV vote attracting Phil and the trier Nat. Its true that any story is better than none and Ali and Ricky W don't have a journey story either but journeying nowhere much shouldn't win. He's also probably got to get past Jade , Ali or Ricky W in a dance off which I don't see happening and he may also have to beat Phil and Nat in the public vote which is an unknown question. On the other hand if Ricky W is the last of the other males standing there will be a lot of votes up for grabs and Chris may gtab them.
