Jill Halfpenny
How good was she dancing with the professionals?
Couldn't believe my eyes! She looked fab too. I really enjoy watching the professionals in the voting time bits. Excellent. |

She looked more gorgeous than I've ever seen her before tonight. |

(I honestly don't wanna turn this into an argument)
The fact Rachel won 26shows and came runner up on 14 shows (when there were only 40) just shows, she was a better dancer. People obviously realised Tom Smuggo Chambers looked a lot better on TV. Rachel was better at Ballroom, I agree. Her Rumba was sensational, and her Cha Cha Cha was quite good ![]() Whereas Smuggo couldn't do Latin either, his Paso face. LOL? His Salsa/Samba/Jive/Cha Cha Cha weren't that good either. He had some good Ballroom dances, I admit. |

Loved the dance. Didn't love the dress (echoes of Ginger Spice at the Brits!). National flags aren't fashion items!
Now git off my lawn, you damn hippies! (waves walking stick) |

Fine, but Rachel was a better DANCER anyway.
Tom might have had a "spark" or whatever people said, but if the competition was on dance alone Rachel Stevens would have lifted the glitterball. Goodnight. |

Tom won the competition that counts, where the judges were the great discerning British public..from Lands End to John o' Groats. ![]() ps.. Jill Halfpenny was fabulous, no female dancer has ever come close. Well..Alesha probably did, but she has become Persona non grata for me after her remarks last night. |

Jill was fabulous tonight
I'm glad they didn't give us any build up of what was going to happen and it was a nice surprise! I must say though, I did wonder if her boobs were going to escape from that dress! ![]() ![]() ![]() She looked and danced brilliantly tonight and I hope she keeps making guests appearances on the show. |

Yes, but who goes to watch those shows..OAP's on coach outings ? A few old die-hard ballroom fanatics who used to dance along with Victor Sylvester ?
You have got the audience for the live shows completely wrong. When I went there was a cross-section of the public in the audience - young children, teenagers, all the way up to pensioners like me (I didn't go on a coach!)

And what I don't like is PEOPLE using txtspk. Haven't you read the posting tips? Quote:
To avoid misunderstandings, please don't use 'txt spk' and try to ensure your post is relatively typo-free.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Jill's ballroom, but I don't think anything on Strictly will ever come close to her latin.

As an ex dancer
I thought Jill was spectacular.
Being in a tough dance musical (Chicago) has extended her style by leaps and bounds. She now looks like a pro dancer. Her movements were completely extended and properly finished, her legs were longer and stronger with great feet and her timing was impeccable. She's learnt a hell of a lot. Even the great Bob Fosse would approve. Fabulous

Tom might have had a "spark" or whatever people said, but if the competition was on dance alone Rachel Stevens would have lifted the glitterball. Goodnight. ![]() The old adage: if - small word, big meaning It's all a matter of perspective and taste - thank God we're all different ![]() Remember in the shows, Rachel danced only the  Rhumba. It's like Brucie dragging out the same gags week after week after........... There's the very real possibility that if Tom and Camilla had danced their Showdance or Quickstep on the tour, they would have been exhausted but winners all the way. I didn't get into Strictly until after Jill's series but watching the videos I see the class act that she is....bet she was fab as Roxie! Last edited by Bonnie96 : 08-11-2009 at 11:10.
