Joe..

Not sure what it is about this guy, he always puts in a faultless performance, he seems like a lovely, genuine nice young man. He's absolutely gorgeous, but still...there's something about his performances that leave me cold. I think if it's possible, he's almost TOO perfect, I know what to expect from him so don't really watch or listen too closely, he has no "edge" and there are never any "goosebump" moments in his performance - if that makes sense lol - just my opinion but I'd be interested to hear other people's.

joe is on of my top 3 choices this year but it doesnt mean he is perfect in my eyes... he does give and deliver great vocals every week and i think that is actually the problem... he gives a good shot and that leaves him to be a boring contestant, no more challenges and is giving us the same dish every week... the fact that his performances were nearly faultless every week, that makes him so so safe in our eyes and at the same time repetitive every week

I feel the same..

Im always asking myself "why dont i love him" because he is a great guy, good-looking, fantastic singer.

But i also am just left a bit cold...it must be his style of singing or performance that puts me off.

His performances are never "wow" just always very good.

I agree. He's got a great voice (but hate the vibrato), nice personality, lovely person. He always hits the notes and sings melodies really well. But that's where it ends for me. I forget about him, and he doesn't inject any personality or emotion into his performances. Like Simon said, "limp" and very "stage school".

Well, I disagree. His performance of No Regrets was magical for me, and I've enjoyed his other performances a lot, too. None of the other contestants really do it for me. I thought Jamie would after his Hurt performance, but Joe, Stacey and the Twins are the only acts I look forward to seeing.

I love Joe; he is my absolute favourite this year because of his looks and of course his incredible singing voice. However, there have been a lot of threads like this one saying he's bland because he is too perfect. Well, I suppose that's the best critisism you can ask for as a popstar!

Joe is note perfect but there is no feeling behind the words, no passion and no emotion.
His performances are beyond dull, I dont get him in anyway, dont like his voice, his performance or the choices of songs he has been given.
I think he will sing whatever he is given with note perfection, however personally I would far rather listen to someone who hits the odd bum note but can sell the song with feeling.

He's just so dull, and insipid IMO. No originality. He belongs in Musical Theatre - which is not an insult, one has to be a very strong singer for Musical Theatre. But he's so poppy and just a little bit lame for me.

Agreed. This is why I think he's better suited to musical theatre - his fantastic vocals would fit in perfectly. He's also great looking, he'd do a great Joseph!

I really don't like the vibrato and for me he always seems really cheesy... I admit he's very talented though.
