I thought a similar thing last night, but can't be sure as I tried to avoid that awful Sean Kingston thing as much as possible.

It's from the 80's film....Stand By Me. River Phoenix, Corey Feldman. Lloyd referred to it and they showed a clip.

The film is called Stand By Me but I don't recall the song being from the actual film. Wiki it, I can't find a reference point.

they did indead i forgot about that.

Im finding this year really boring with them doing the same songs again. Danyl has now done 3 songs that were performed last year.

The song is played throughout as the score and it is used s the end credit song.

The video for the song has the cast of the film in it.

I think it's in the movie according to wiki, during the credits at the end. Been along time since I watched it.

Stand by me was released in the 1960s and didn't appear in a movie until the 1980s - for me it fails to qualify as a proper 'movie' song as opposed to a song which happened to be in a movie decades after it was released.

The original version of that song is the best version imo, no contest but even so Lloyd still managed to murder it. lol

You could probably say the same about a few of the songs, Roy Orbisons Crying was also released in 1961, Son of a Preacher Man in 1968 way before Pulp Fiction. It's splitting hairs though, the song themes are just there to give the show a bit of structure, the judges can bend the rules to suit, it's the performance that matters more than anything, not if it fits exactly into some jobsworth rules of the theme.
