Yes, that's right, not one, not two, six!!

Films 'Crying' (Roy Orbison) is in:

Repressions (2007)
Mullholland Drive (2001)
The Guilty (2000)
Gravesend (1997)
Gummo (1997)
Hiding Out (1987)

Fed up of reading this rubbish spouted by Louis everywhere.

EDIT: I can't count, I stand corrected. It is six!!

Mullholland Drive is probably the most well-known from that list. I'm baffled why they didn't mention it was from that film.

Which shows what a joke the movie category is - probably every song has been played sometime in some sort of movie including those straight to DVD.

The fact that the song has been played in 5 movies is not the same as saying it was a headliner song from a move.

Louis should do his research before making a pratt of himself

How many of the public would have known it was in six films - that's the point surely! It should be about headliner songs from famous movies - otherwise they can basically sing anything.

Did they say it had to be the headliner song?

Only 3 were to my knowledge:

Purple Rain
Circle of Life
Stand By Me

Jamie did at the end after Louis had done his usual hatchet job. I went right off the silly little man after he kept harping on about Leona's lack of personality hampering her her chances of success. If he sees anyone as a threat to his acts he tries to belittle them.

It WON a GRAMMY for Hiding Out!

I don't think they just hand out Grammys to songs from unknown films. Just because you don't know something, doesn't make it wrong.

Sorry - but the song choice should be a song especially written as a headline song for a movie. It should not be a song written years before that someone happened to include in a movie later. Defeats the whole point of the category otherwise.

Stand by me for example was released in 1961 - but didn't appear in a movie until the mid 1980s. So in my view it doesn't qualify - or at least shouldn't.

Ghosbusters was a headline song from a movie and written for a movie - other examples include e.g. Don't wanna miss a thing by Aerosmith or My Heart will go on by Celene Dion etc etc. That surely should be what the category is about - otherwise almost all songs are eligible.

To be fair it is the Spanish version of the song, "Llorando", sung a cappella, by Rebekah Del Rio that is used in the film 'Mulholland Drive'. So there is a slight difference...

Movie songs, any movie will do whether people heard of it or not. My friend hadn't heard of the film. All it took for her was to google the song and what movies it was in. To a point people have to be flexible. Just an opinion

I disgree. They must have re-released it then because the video I've seen is this one:

No sound due to WBM

You seem to forget that the category was "movies that Louis knows about".

Louis will take the opportunity to undermine Simon at every opportunity. He had no leg to stand on - it has been in several movies so he was spouting rubbish!!

I disagree.

'Crying' has been in six films.

What Jamie did last night hasnt been in any film known to man or beast.

And I hope it never sees the light of day again.

Ghostbusters was the only true film song in the literal sense.

All the others were just existing songs that had been featured in films,

You're right, the majority of them were

Circle of Life was written specifically for Lion King though, and that horrible song from Camp Rock was written for that I suspect.
