Clichés, Platitudes and Bullsh*t
“You have the authentic tones of Dusty Springfield” (Dannii to Stacey)
“You’re a very, very cute guy and it was a cute performance” (Dannii to Lloyd)
“ I don’t know the movie it’s from. I think you’re cheating again” (Louis to Jamie)
“I think you sang from your heart” (Cheryl to Jamie)
“You look like a popstar” (Louis to Lucie)
“You remind me of Taylor Swift” (Louis to Lucie)
“You’ve got star quality” (Louis to Lucie)
“It has all been a bit karaoke” (Simon to Lucie)
“I think this show has found a great great singer...” speech (Simon to Danyl)
“Everywhere I go people are talking about John & Edward” (Louis to Jedward)
“You guys are having fun” (Louis to Jedward)
“You’re starting to feel like a little brother to me.” (Cheryl to Joe)

WORST OF THE WEEK: Louis critique of Lucie was littered with cliches.

Contradictions:
“All I have to say is it shows how out of touch Simon Cowell is. That’s the best reaction from the audience...” (Dannii, who later gave mediocre comments to singers who got far better audience reactions, to Stacey)
"It's called entertainment..." (Simon to Olly. Won't be saying that to Jedward!)
“I think Simon picked a really, really silly song” (Louis, who chose that song for JLS, to Olly)
“He is down on his confidence. That’s normal. ” (Cheryl, who criticised Danyl last week for the same thing, to Lloyd)

WORST OF THE WEEK: Has to be Louis. The other 3 were defending their acts but with Louis it was so obvious that he was just looking to score points. Such a shame nobody noticed at the time!

Annoying Standing Ovations:
A tie for Louis and Cheryl, who both managed to stay firmly in their seats all night. Even though Joe was better than most that got standing ovations.

Dannii and Simon both gave standing ovations to all of their acts. Though Dannii did at least keep hers a bit shorter. Simon

WORST OF THE WEEK: Simon. Dannii runs him close but his are just so over the top.

Fashion:
Louis went with a skinny tie and fairly nice suit. Cheryl aged quite a few years going very conservative after last week, Dannii looked like she had just got out of the shower and Simon was predictable as ever.

WORST OF THE WEEK: Simon for predictability.

Probably missed a few of the cliches, feel free to add and disagree!

I am amazed at the time and effort people put into posts?...

How do people find the time...I see some FM's with 40+ posts per day...Surely "day to day life suffers??

Great post OP!

I noticed most of these myself, especially Louis criticising Olly's song. I remember Simon criticising Louis for picking it last year, too.

she has said that now 3 weeks in a row...
If this truly was the case she would be giving him MUCH better songs to work with.
