Flattering/unflattering dresses
I cant believe some of the hideous dresses/outfits worn this year.......last night that lime green 'thing' worn by Jade was vile.....Natalie has some really unflattering stuff.....that horrible paso dress of Ali's last week and other disgusting and unflattering dresses.....do the celebs not get a say????

Laila's paso dress was very Brentford Nylons.
Ola looked wonderful for once. Erin's? Did they run out of fabric? Natalie C. Well, she has had some shockers. Ali always looks "meh" but that's Ali. Jade's wasn't great. But I refuse to believe that they can't find some good styles or colours for Natalie C. |

She started off so well with her hot pink tango dress but why are they insisting on putting her in long sleeved gowns which make her look frumpy and way older than she is? |

Ali's dress this week was nice ![]() Katya had a leotard with a bit of net curtain....... I wish the designers would consider what is flattering....sometimes Natalies hair is terrible aswell

The hair is often horrible. Zoe's hair during "parrot week" was atrocious.

The worst so far this series for me was Lilia's dress with a sort of metallic blue belt around what was an otherwise virtually naked midriff. That was awful.
Agree about Zoe's hair last week too. |

ohhhh I forgot to comment on the terrible outfits for the group swing (comedy pants and braces)
'Parrot week' hahahaha sometimes the hair is a bit severe and sometimes Jade's eyebrows are in different positions |

My worse gripe was that they didnt at least colour co-ordinate the dresses to the Remembrance Day poppies that they insisted all the couples should wear.
On some - Ali's aquamarine gown for example - they looked truly hideous and totally ruined the 100s of hours the designers and dressmakers put in to make them. |

I thought the poppies spoiled the outfits aswell - but it is the BBC and they have to be seen to be doing the right thing........
anyway I really hope the dresses improve..... :/ |

The worst for me so far has been Natalie's jive outift with that horrible flat bow plonked on her head - it made her look ridiculous.

Natalie's jive dress was awful but she did say on ITT that it had to be changed so maybe that was her choice. The original one was more flattering. I liked Jade's jive dress and think it suited the cheeky routine.

I know what you mean but some people seem to come out really well with the dresses whilst others look terrible - some of the male outfits dont seem to match the partners - however - I totally loved the pros waltz outfits and whole spectacle - the chandeliers looked fab

Worse dress for me was Flavias Waltz dress last week with the animal print arms - hideous!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't understand why dress designers have no idea what shape suits Natalie. I haven't liked any of her dresses. Bring back whoever designed Letitias paso dress! |

In fairness to the dress designers Natalie C has a difficult body shape, she is big around the middle. When they put ladies like her in drop waist flowy gowns that attempt to sail past this problem area everyone complains, when they put her in fitted stuff everyone complains. They can't magically give her an hourglass figure when she hasn't got one.

The role of a good designer is to design a dress that flatters not emphasises a figure 'fault'. The designer is marvellous - if you are a thin girl, but for some reason, she is unable to flatter the more curvy ladies. Don't blame the ladies, the designer needs to come up with some more flattering designs for the lovely Natalie!
Some of her designs are beautiful, but others make even the most stunning figures - like Jade's - look questionable. The outfit she wore on Saturday was dreadful. |

I actually think that for a non-size-8 girl, Natalie's done pretty well in the dress department until that royal blue monster on Saturday. Other than that, she's had some fab dresses - I liked her tango one, her VW dress, the AS one and the jive number particularly. Oh, and her paso frock was the best of the series.
I think some of the worst frock horrors of this series showed up on Jo Wood, who looked like she was in curtain material more often than not, and yet has a beautiful figure. Jade's had some great ones - all her Latin costumes bar the jive one have been excellent, and all her ballroom ones bar the pink meringue for her first waltz (her only poor dance as well, oddly). Don't a number of the pro dancers get their own dresses done by other dressmakers? Flavia's are clearly not the product of the BBC minions, and I thought Erin's weren't either...either way, it means they can't complain about what they end up with. |

I am happy that Natalie is there to kind of 'represent a real figure' but they do make her look frumpy......Flavia and Ola always have this kind of 'trendy and cool' feel about the way they dress (apart from that leopard print thing!!!!!)
The dresses look lush on those pictures and them rarely materialise as well. I would personally like to see some less severe and more feminine hairstyles...... I know that I am banging on about clothes and hair but as an audience we do spend a lot of time looking at them (!) |

I loved Ola and Ali's dresses on Saturday but I wasn't keen on Katya's spangly knickers with half a tent on top combination.

Some of Erin's dresses have been awful - the Rumba dress was a mistake as it kept riding up past her bum, and she kept trying to pull it down. And the dresses they give Natalie have been quite good I think for a curvier girl. If she was given skimpier dresses the nastier posters on here would have a field day. I preferred her Jive dress to that of Jade's, a strange design as well as a horrible colour.
