SCD Message Boards for DS and BBC
Sorry to start a thread on this but just wondered if anyone else has had this problem - also wanted to clarify my username and clear up any confusion!
I have had lots of messages today telling me of another "tangoqueen" on the BBC SCD message boards and wondering if it is me, since the opinions are different to mine and people seemed confused. For anyone reading this who does know me on here (appreciate lots of you don't!), and is confused, I am not the tangoqueen on the BBC boards. I don't post on there so I have no issue with another poster having the same name as me - except that it can be confusing if people post on both and may wonder which one is which. I have held the username tangoqueen on the Beeb boards for a few years now and can only surmise that a cock-up was made when the boards were re-done this year by allowing someone else to have the same name. It doesn't really matter in truth, and I have no real issue with it because I read the Beeb boards but do not post on there - so any post on the BBC SCD boards from tangoqueen is not me! And if the other "tangoqueen" is reading this, hello and I have no issue with you at all - just with the Beeb cocking it up! and I thought I should point it out just in case you weren't aware. I tried this morning to log on as my registered user name on there - tangoqueen - and I could get in - so there are two of us currently allowed on there with an identical name! I am of course tangoqueen here on DS's SCD thread and do post here all the time. I have written to the BBC's relevant department about it but received no reply. so just in case I do at any point wish to make a post on the Beeb's SCD board - I shall start any post with "its DS TQ" then it won't be a problem for the tangoqueen who DOES post on there, just in case the Beeb don't do anything about it. Hope that is an easy solution, and hope no-one minds my posting this new thread about it - I just wondered if anyone else had had the same problem? |

The BBC boards let you change the nickname displayed when you post at any time. Each account has an ID, which starts with a U, followed by some numbers, which is unique, but on the Strictly boards it is only displayed if you click on the poster name. Some boards display it permanently, next to the nickname, so it doesn't matter if two posters have the same nickname, you can always tell them apart.
Pasodaisy - they changed the log in system recently, and it doesn't appear to be working very well for some people - you can read more here or email them on membership@bbc.co.uk, but it seems to depend on who you get as to whether or not they actually help. |

Sounds like a bit of a recipe for potential confusion even though the numbers make it clear which one is which! Really did appreciate your taking the time to explain though - thanks very much

That she registered on the BBC boards with this username several years ago, but that someone else has since been able to register with the same username and posts there regularly under this name.
