That's the line that made me really laugh out loud too.
It reminds me of something similar he said to Little Louisa - "I'm going to win this with or without you!"

Chris and Ola have found the right balance of fun and respect and I love them .Yeah Baby
Flavia , bless her looked like she would prefare to be out clearing out blocked drains than dancing with Craig Best chemistry, well its pretty obvious that Ali and Brian have errr...significant chemistry, which has helped them a bit on the dance floor. My fave couple is probably Jade and Ian at the moment. However, sometimes they don't get on. I think Erin is too professional to really have that much chemistry. It seems to make her stand-offish. Talking of other years Colin Jackson never gave anything much away either. If they had been more open I would probably have wanted them to win it. |

Laila and Anton - She seems to question Anton all the time in training and I think now she feels entitled to do that given what happened between them and Anton is now unable to respond in a more natural way. The media coverage has had a huge impact on how they work together.
He needs to tell her off more and get her to focus and lose a bit of the petulance (and this comes from a 100% Laila supporter!) As for the best chemistry, yeah Chris and Ola I guess. I don't see it with Brian and Ali, sometimes you can get too close and that doesn't always make for great chemistry. Some of the best onscreen partnerships have hated the sight of each other off camera! |

I have to say this is entirely my take on it too. Whenever I watch their VT's I always think she totally wears the pants in that relationship. Anton just has to go with the flow and whatever mood Laila is in, often to her own detriment when it comes to the dances.

I really get the impression they (and the audience feel that) would rather be doing something on their own somewhere rather than dancing for the public !! , and that this goes a long way to dampening down any potential chemistry they might portray. And 2. the point you make also might explain why I am strangely sensing more chem between anton & lalia and why for me jade & ian are still among the top "best chem" partnerships - the elements of tension add that certain something to the chemistry mix!
