Well I hope they win the trophy and then have a massive snog while runners-up Jade and Ian hold the glitterball over their heads (because they're tall enough to do it).

As a couple they just fail to excite me - but that VW was beautiful; almost ethereal.
Forgive me for quoting myself - but although I still think that VW was beautiful I read on another forum that it didn't include the fleckerl.

I hadn't noticed so I watched again - and the poster was correct; which begs the question did it deserve 4X10's?

I thought there was a fleckerl. Or at least what I thought a fleckerl was.

At around 3 minutes on the video?

I love Brian, fantastic dancer & cute face. However, this is the most memorable Viennese Waltz. Ali & Brian's pales in comparison

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if they got 'together' after the show's over. And jolly good luck to them - they obviously think the world of each other. Pleasure to see in this war-torn, financially crippled and polluted world.

I'm no expert but i've watched a training clip of what a fleckerl looks like and it looked just like what Ali and Brian did about 55 seconds into theirs.

Did they do it wrong or something or is that another move?

I'm no expert either but the poster who made the comment is pretty knowledgeable.

I'll watch it again - with eagle eyes at 55 seconds.

Well it looks like a forward and then reverse fleckerl to me and no different to the one just posted of Alesha

But there was fleckerl! In fact there were two!

There was reverse turns, pivots, natural turns, then in the middle, when the music paused, the fleckerl with reverse spin, a sort of contra check, then natural fleckerl spin, before they were off again towards the end.

Then I will bow to that.

Alesha's VW is more interesting choreographically, but she has less natural top line than Ali's. Well, Ali did have ballet training, so her upper body posture would be better than Alesha's to be sure.

Also, the body contact when in hold, Alesha and Matt broke contact at least once in hold, while Ali and Brian stuck like glue throughout (except, of course in the intro and the end, when they break hold).

For me, both are beautifully danced, with very interesting choreography, but Ali's definitely technically better, faultess to my untrained eye actually.

She is excellent at the 'pretty princess' dances but doesnt convince in the Latin. Brian is an odd bloke sometimes I think he is good looking and sometimes I think he is odd looking. I like Ali but she always looks terrified and its a bit off putting.....
When Brian appeared for the first time last year some evil genius on these boards described him as looking like a younger brother who'd spy on his sister and her friends when they were getting dressed I love him (now), but there is something in that. Ali has tragic eyes - like a Victorian young lady who's been used and betrayed by a cad, her eyes seem permanently brimful of tears. Can't fault their dancing though

Ali has spare skin on her eyelids so they look puffy, and aren't enhanced by dark eyeliner (unless applied more delicately than a no-doubt overstretched SCD makeup department can manage on a hectic Saturday afternoon).

On her appearances on ITT Ali seems more down-to-earth, and courageous, than her appearance would lead you to expect
So I hope and trust that she will never decide to get those lids "corrected".

When Ali appears for her dances I am usually distracted by less than sympathetic treatment of her lips from the make-up department. They make her mouth look so wide and bright she ends up looking like the Joker from Batman.

I thought it was just me! I found their VW totally boring. I don't watch the Bill so didn't know who the heck she was, I find her and that soppy look on her face totally irritating. I must be the only one on these forums who looks at Brian's eyebrows and thinks he looks like a werewolf in mid-morph.

No wonder Brians mother stopped reading the forums after reading so many upsetting comments about how people look. Seriously is there any need for the personal insults

I thought Brian and Ali's VW was absolutely beautiful. She has so much natural ability and her armwork is very graceful.

I know some posters haven't taken to her and find her "boring". I disagree - she is lovely, hardworking and just wants to do things right. People say she is timid - I think not. A timid person would not be an actress or perform in Strictly - give me Ali any day over Ricky Groves - who in my opinion, is full of himself and doesn't have "it" when performing on a dance floor.

Everyone has their own opinion and I suppose, at the end of the day, you can please some of the people some of the time, most of the people most of the time but never all the of the people all of the time.
