I remember that but I can't remember which couple it was. I think it was the week before last though.

Must admit I liked Flavia`s attitude on ITT last night.

Had they stayed in again over another better dancer I think she would have felt really guilty. It wont be long before they get down to two dances a week and he would have really struggled then too.

He was struggling anyway, two dances wouldn't have been worse than one.

I think that says it all, if she was going to be feeling guilty, that means she wasn't going to be putting everything into getting him through.

It's bad enough if you're not good at something and struggling, it's even worse if you've also got to battle the person who's supposed to be on your side and helping you get through. Who needs a 'friend' like that?

Flavia has gone way down in my estimation, I think she was doing the minimum she was contracted to do, and no more, which is not in the spirit of Strictly.

For what it's worth, I didn't like watching Craig, he hadn't 'got it' at all, and he was the right one to go but I didn't think he deserved the way it happened to him.

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure I saw Flavia do a w@nker sign behind Craig's back in one training routine a while ago.
Personally I think she's very perceptive.

Silver: I kind of agree with you.

I still think Flavia is fabulous and overall my favourite female pro.

I do think that they got on well – contrary to others they seemed to have mutual warmth and you could tell how Matt D and Craig’s brother were around them to see that.

HOWEVER, my overall impression is that Flavia was far to affected by the perceived opinions of her fellow pros and fitting in with them than pushing Craig through. Everyone has jumped n this “deluded” bandwagon to describe Craig but he had a lot of drive which is totally in the spirit of Strictly. I wish Flavia had seemed a bit more “OK let’s go for it” in her attitude. Even if Craig couldn’t get it easily, it’s Flavia’s job to keep pushing.

Maybe Flavia felt it was genuinely better for Craig not to keep going on though and risk all the nastiness of the judges and resentful pros.

Flavia did her job. End of. She was thoroughly professional and gracious and, as quoted in the DS news story, did defend Craig and take issue with Bruno's assertion that he couldn't dance.

So what exactly is she supposed to do? Drag Alesha from the judges podium by the hair and stage a Dynasty-style catfight with her in the middle of the Tower Ballroom? I get the impression that this is exactly what some posters would like.

Flavia didn't betray Craig or let him down. And the reason he left isn't, let us please not forget, because a few of Alesha's words might have been ill-chosen. It's because he just wasn't that popular with the public. You might think that being ripped to shreds by the judges would be an automatic ticket to the next round. Obviously this was not the case with Craig - and that is why he left.

Was this in the same episode where you saw Alesha doing the cut-throat sign before the Dance Off?

Also, what no-one else seems to have picked up on as far as I know is the look she gave to the camera during their farewell dance - a sort of wry, ironic expression.

Yes, exactly that, but in a 'sweet' way.

A poster on another thread or two reckons that all non-dancers think they are good or not bad, and it's only people repeatedly telling them otherwise that does it. Claudia gives the lie to this for a start, and where does this leave Craig? You could tell him 'til you were blue in the face. It depends on the individual, surely, and surely, Craig was an individual. A one-off.

Were the other pros making it uncomfortable for Flavia, or did she genuinely just feel it was "not right" to progress solely on the strength of the public vote?

All pros know that they might benefit from the public vote in the future, so it seems unlikely they were giving Flavia too much stick, although one can never be sure with Show Bix types. (I'm a mathematician with chronic stage-fright, so genuinely don't understand the desire to perform in front of millions of people, even for £££££££££££££££££££).

Maybe a rule could be introduced to allow a Pro to withdraw to save their partner from "further punishment", boxing style, with specific criteria set down as to how to reselect a previously ejected pairing to make the numbers up again. Sometimes, people need to be protected from themselves.

ps: Flavia and Alesha having a catfight on live TV would have been great. Alesha has the stature, but Flavia had the stilettos. It would have been a close run thing.

I had the feeling that Flavia didnt want to get close to Craig right from the very beginning coz she's involved with Matt. Matt and Flavia certainly had the connection when she danced with him for a few seconds in the VT (when he had come to support craig). But Craig was deluded as usual and tried to get close to Flavia?

Just my thoughts from what I saw. It looked like she was unhappy with him.

Plus, did anyone notice how Claude just read comments from the forums to Flavia and not to Craig? Maybe they weren't any nice ones for him..

I think Flavia had the patience of a saint with Craig. As for her answering back Alesha, it's just not her way I think, I don't think she would answer back any of the judges.

The thing is sometimes on a show like Strictly you do need patience of a saint. These celebs are not dancers, they are going into the programme completely oblivious as to what it takes to go far,and rely on the pro to guide them through. They need much more from the pro than just turning up and showing them the steps ......I do understand Craig was not very good, but a lot of celebs on the show have been bad,but never have I seen a pro with such lack of interest to stay in than Flavia in this series.I feel the pro should be supportive and encourage the celeb to fight to stay in as long as the public want them there.I have seen pros try every trick in the book to keep their celeb in for as long as possible, but Flavia was simply releived ...she even said so herself....now whatever her personal thoughts she should have kept them to herself....she is there to support Craig and keep him there for as long as possible, and I dont think I heard her say please vote people and keep us in...she should have, even had she wanted to escape and run for her life and im sure she did.....it is her job to want Craig to stay and Im afraid she didn't.

Apart from Craig and Matt, who have her other partners been?

I do wonder how, say, Erin or Ola would've done with Craig, as they both come across as stricter, more forceful teachers.

I don't think there'd be many 'YEAH, BABY!'s from Ola if she had Craig as her pupil ...

In fact, I think both Erin and Ola would be a damn sight harsher than Alesha was!

Now that I did see, along with many other wry looks on the training VT we saw on ITT.
