Apparently, it's Bryan that is going to be making an announcement that he will be leaving Westlife to spend more time with his family. The full story aint been on yet, so I dunno?

Ok the news story has just started, they know for a fact that they are going to be making an announcement, and it is thought that Bryan will be leaving. They have a tour planned for this year, and it seems that they will go on with or without him. But wether they will stay together for long, or at all, they not sure yet.

Best news I've heard for a long time - lets have no more manufactured boy bands or girl bands for that matter

I was thinking... I can't actually remember a single Westlife song (Apart from the cover of Mandy they did recently, and Uptown Girl but they are both covers of really popular old songs, so don't really count!)

I can remember Take That songs (Pray, Babe, Never Forget, etc...), but not a single Westlife one... Still, probably a blessing...

Maybe they should do a greatest hits album to round it off called
'Instantly forgetable'.

Yep bryan has gone and they're continuing as a 4.
It's interesting how Simon Cowell seems to have seperated himself from them as he sees their popularity waning.
I think this is quite obviously the beginning of the end.
I think it's a bit mean for Bryan not to do the tour which his fans have already bought tickets for - knowing teenage girls they'll be rather upset.

Yeah, a year or less.

Just look at what happened when a member left the spice girls, take that, hear'say etc etc...

Westlife really were awful. 5 blokes with some talent but obviously no passion for music, releasing whatever piece of crap they wanted and it would still go to number one.

Best news in months

I suspect they'll do the tour, and that'll be it.

Shame.

I do think it's a shame Bryan's not doing the tour....he says he's been thinking about this for 6 months - I bet that's a big comfort to his fans who bought tickets primarily to see him!

I'm not a Wetflies fan...but I understand how upset some people will be.

I think if he leaves, the time is up for westlife. Bryan leaving is just the last nail in the coffin.

What a tradegy

I thought it was quite funny the press release which went something like....

'Westlife are obviously devastated by this news, however they have come to terms with it.....'

Well I trust the remaining boys have invested their money well over the last few years.

Dont worry all you pondlife fans , im sure louis walsh will come up with another bunch of irish boys to sing karaoke songs to you. i cant believe that such obviously manufactured , cover version specialists are so popular ... shows the sheep mentality of the young i suppose. "final four" are a good bet to step into their shoes. after all , once u can croon along to a barry manilow song you've passed the audition.

Mr Walsh must've been caught unaware, because we don't seem to have a carbon copy to take over, as we did with Boyzone > Westlife!

They'll split after the tour. They have gone past their sell by date, but they have lasted long for a pop band, it's quite unusual to have done as much albums as they have, but they will never be in our memories like Take That or the Spice Girls.

You can always remember a spice girls song or a take that song, but westlifes songs are as forgettable as the boys themselves.

I can see Westlife for what they are obviously, a marketing ploy, but I'd rather have 10 of them than one Busted!
At least Westlife have good voices.

What I really can't stand are these new Boy bands, that pretend to be something they ain't.

Blazin Squad top of the list! - aaarrgghh!! I can't stand them!

At least Busted don't take themselves too seriously, Blazin Squad think they're D12 or something

Blazin' Squad are funny. I remember them being on TOTP sometime last year, and I couldn't make out which were the band and which ones were the audience!

Maybe I'm getting old.

Did you read the press release - "in the tradition of all great bands we will now be a four piece". Great bands? Westlife? Even after the departure of that big ego of Bryan's, the arrogance of Westlife still soars high.
