Thanks Les. Be interested to see how the beta testers are doing?

Yes I understand how to get the Guide up through Schedule. I just thought they might have fixed the original issue by maybe updating it when the Guide was not being displayed. Cheers”

The guide does trickle charge in the background, it did in the last firmware as well

I don't think they are allowed to tell us - NDA.

I just downloaded OTA without problem. I was hoping that it would allow to select several items at once to delete, but I haven't seen that ability Please tell me I'm missing something...

The volume control for stereo (most) channels doesnt work when using the optical out! I know you can't control the volume on HD, DolbyDigital sources. But now I cant control the volume on normal channels! Rubbish!

NDA on a public beta is an oxymoron, the truth will out.

Edit : See http://www.hummy.org.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=6420 it seems the USB key Beta testers get has either a different firmware or some additional data on it.

Yes you are, go into file manager, press yellow to enter edit mode and OK on all the files you want to copy or delete to multiselect. It's not a new feature incidentally

ah yes.... too many clicks for me so I was hoping for the ability to do it straight from the main media list, like they changed the freeview pvr to do it.

Switching on motorised dish setting still incorrectly changes the system to single cable from two cable.

My first bug...
In file manager if you delete an empty folder at top of list by pressing red you do not get the red button back till you scroll down and up the list to the same item.

Not major but point to poor testing in the last nine months...

Also as I mentioned in another thread second tuner not used to load guide when you press guide.

I guess the other tuner has to rest

Uh Oh...

Just switched the HDR on tonight whilst it was already recording 2 channels - no sound / picture (my connection is all HDMI via an AV amp).

Switch to standby and back on again - still no sound / picture.

Workaround - use v.format button to go from 1080i to 576p, picture and sound returned. Then cycle back through to 1080i.

I think that one is going to get tiring fast...

I had this issue before with direct connection to my TV with HDMI, someone said to switch on HDR first before switching on TV, (allowing HDR time to be fully on) and guess what it worked... This was the only annoying issue I really ever had.

Not a big deal but it would be nice if they managed to shave off a few seconds.

Although, as I suspect it's the underlying Unix boot that's taking the time, I'm not hopeful.”

I booted in with remote from red light on front in 25 seconds----Amazing improvement!

Also used off switch at rear, waited 30 secs then switched on again, this time the boot took 30 secs.

I suppose there is a minimum time to warm up the valves ?

I thought I noticed yesterday's boot was noticeably faster even though I was watching it (watched kettle syndrome).

Being a complete muppet I forgot to time it before the update.

Its interesting to see how many issues we have all found in a matter of hours of the launch of this less than major upgrade...

subtitles, volume control, navigation in file manager, file rename and widescreen switching signal to name a few...

My switch on sequence and timing is controlled by a Logitech remote control (ie. one button macro). And none of my equipment has changed in the last year.

Last night was the first time it has ever happened to me - coincidentally(?) the first time since the update...

Although it did turn on normally tonight (but there was only one recording running this time).

That was strange I set collision up to record on ITV Hd earlier and put box into standby the box used to come to life (clock displays) about 15 min before time was set for but it didn’t

@ 9pm as it started I hit the standby button on the remote thinking it wasn’t going to start and it come on and started recording I checked the AV channel and it on ITV Hd does it still wake up early

The majority of those are not what you are trying to infer, mountain out of a molehill as usual

Subtitles - not affecting all users, and such an obvious problem would have been spotted during testing, it obviously was not, and therefore we presume it is something perculiar to those units or users settings.

Sound - for all we know this might well be deliberate, again so obvious that it should have been spotted during testing.

Navigation - No problem for me, yes the red colour in the icon is slow to reappear, but it does reappear. You can actually still press the red button, and the action is performed.

File rename - How anyone can call this a bug is beyond me, If you change the name and it no longer corresponds to the parent folder it is logical to me that it would be moved.

Widescreen switching - Has not affected me, and others it would seem.

To me its definitely a bug. My logic is that the option labelled "Rename" alters the name of the file and keeps it where it is, whereas the option labelled "Move" actually moves it from the current folder. That's how I interpret the two options labelled "Move" and "Rename" - can't spot any option labelled "Rename & Move to root" anywhere.

Besides when you record a series it doesn't always follow that the episode recorded is the same name as the folder that the series link points to i.e. Harpers Island (on BBC Three a few weeks ago) episodes would go in a folder called "Harpers Island" with each episode as "Harpers Island". However that series link also recorded the documentaries associated with it and these also went in the same folder but with different names. Your logic dictates that this is odd behaviour and shouldn't be allowed.

Another example I recorded the 3 documentaries called "Electric Dreams". These all went in a folder called "Electric Dreams" with each episode as "Electric Dreams". To make it easier for the family to identify the episodes I renamed them "Electric Dreams 1970's", "Electric Dreams 1980's" and "Electric Dreams 1990's". I obviously didn't want these moved as they are all part of the same series.

That's just my thoughts on the very odd file renaming logic.

After thought - it's only the rename option on the media manager section that is at fault isn't it? If you do it within the file manager it doesn't move it (or does it)? Not near the HDR to try it (and its time for bed).

The chase play bug is still there when it takes you back to the media menu when the real time program finishes.

This is a very, very poor effort and will mean I never buy another Humax again. 12 months for a bug ridden "fix" and no new features. Id have accepted this if it took a month to do but did no one watch chase play in beta testing.

I agree with you on this issue - why on earth wasn't that fixed? - it is definitely a bug that is a continual irritation for me. It is a pain when it drops out of play - and it seems most often to happen at just that point in a program when something interesting is happening!

No decent Q/A department would have signed that off. How difficult would that have been to fix? The mind boggles.
