But you cannot delete while deleting

I would have thought it could have added the delete job to the queue?

Automan.
You can create your own delete queue (always have been able to). Just press yellow in file manager OK on the files to grp select and press delete (or copy).

Indeed....you can navigate away from the 'deleting' item but not delete a second which means a disc clean up is still a time consuming. Maybe next time?

Subtitles aren't that tricky, just press the button twice and they will turn on and after a short pause the window will auto disappear. Quite why there is any kind of menu for this function is beyond me, I occasionally see a Teletext option for subtitles but this has never worked.

Add to the list, make subtitles a one button on/off affair like every other box on the planet and also make the Prev button swap back and forth between channels more reliably!

If you really are doing a disc cleanup, use FM/Edit Mode, it's much quicker for multiple deletes.

Well, what a surprise! Went to media this morning and there were several "NEW" flags against some folders! So to celebrate I performed a non-freesat scan of Astra 1 and all my scheduled recordings are still there. Then just for fun I tried playing a BBC HD recording direct from my external hard drive. No problem at all! Eat lead $ky HD+

I like the new flag against folders as well. My favourite enhancement is the deleting of the last file in a folder.. when that folder disappears too, such joy.

I quite like the ability to lock recordings, previously you could only lock access to individual channels.

Hmmm...

Pretty convincing, then, but I'm convinced the list of options in that popup screen was longer than that, and included lock/unlock

But, I'm probably digging myself into a hole here , and will claim senility

The protect/release is to do with Auto-Delete, but lock/unlock is a bit like Parental Control, you need the password to play back the file. You can still delete a locked file.

I may have to concede here!! I've just found there was a lock/unlock option in file manager under the blue button. I could have sworn that locking the playback of a file was not available as I had tried to find that function before and could only find the locking of a channel selection.

I tried to do an OTA update this morning but the box said there was no software available.

Any ideas?

Your receiver may already have received the update overnight. Check in the menu to see what version you have. Or does the channel genre appear in two colums when you press guide. If yes you have the new version.

I'm on single feed with the HDR (due to only 3 feeds to the living room and the Sky HD taking the other 2) and it seems to have updated itself!! Has the ITV HD disappear after rescan bug been fixed?? not tried it yet. Got 25/10/2009 anyway!!

the iPlayer will only be available via a USB stick update - and there is a testing period of several weeks to go through - so i'm sitting tight for now

I don't think they'll be sending out a USB stick to all Freesat box owners when the testing's signed off

The box seems very hit or miss weather it will update with your usb key and i cant see why
Hope the usb keys being sent to the testers work

When you want a channel rescan none appears, when you don't two come along at once

Perhaps your manual wasn't plugged in during download.

More seriously does anyone know if Humax are going to update the manual, on-line?
Or offer a new booklet?

My OTA download seemed to be OK.
At first I could not get it 'cos Tuner 1 was missing.
Then it mysteriously reappeared & I selected an Auto Download. Suspect I'm left with an intermittent fault, always the worst sort.

Boot time is now 25 seconds ! That was an unexpected good trick.
