I am hooked after seeing these guys in support to aha and to say they are huge in Norway is an understatement! They are currently number 1 on the album chart and Number 1 and 2 with their first two singles on the singles chart. Does anyone know if a UK release is imminent or should I just import fom Norway now?

See what you think..

I'd import the album if I were you Brampton. I ordered my copy the night before I saw them in Manchester supporting A-ha and hopefully it will arrive this week. I can't tell you if they will be releasing here in the UK but I think they are a great pop act. Sometimes is wonderful sunny pop.

I ordered the album from CDCON if you're wondering.

I admit the name does sound rather dodgy

I've just downloaded Ambitions from itunes but would love to have their oher songs, might have to consider importing the CD if itunes doesn't get them.
Love Sometimes.
Last support act for a-ha that I enjoyed was Lorraine.

Probably my favourite album of the year... I especially love Caught In A Life, Ambition, Awake and Sometimes... but i can listen to the whole thing ad nauseum.... Fab stuff!! Reminds me alot of Starship and Boy Meets Girl, with a bit Belinda Carlisle's chutzpah!!

There's a name from the past! Touted as the next big thing, wonder what ever happened to them?

Forgot to mention, my copy of "Caught In A Life" arrived today......the cover is really really horrible, no wonder they've put a white cardboard sleeve with the band name and title on it over the CD. It looks quite classy until you remove it and see that tacky looking picture. Good job it's the music I'm after.

I saw them supporting a-ha at the O2 and thought they were good. They have some nice catchy songs although the video for ambitions is a little grim in parts!

nice idea, though - that we deteriorate if we lose sight of our dreams....

Last I heard of Lorraine was that they'd changed their name to Blackroom
Had a look round & found their new myspace page so it looks like they're still on the go.

Thinking of ordering Donkeyboys CD. Although I think they should consider having a name change

The sounds isn't all that different although Lorraine had a more "arms-in-the-air" feel to their music.( "I Feel It" had a definite A-ha vibe to it imo.) Wonder why they changed their name? Is it the same band or has there been a personnel change along the way?

Had the Donkeyboy album playing in the car today and would recommend it highly. Great, ice-cool Nordic pop.

Thats one ace video! Sadly I was a bit too drawn into the plot to bother with the song but it didn't sound too bad

Further update, Ambitions to be released in the UK on April 19th, album the week after. Unbelievably Ambitions spends its 44th consecutive week on the Norweign Top 20 (13 of those at number 1) and has climbed from 25 - 3 in Sweden this week

I was stunned to see that Donkeyboy are launching in the UK this year. Hopefully Ambitions will be a very big hit here for them.

I thought I was the only one who liked them!
Had no idea that they were releasing stuff over here, I think Ambitions could be HUGE. Although if it is, I'll be completely sick of it by then.

OK I know I am a bit obsessed but heres the latest Donkeyboy update, the single and albums UK release date has been pushed back to 16/23 August respectively. However, the best bit of potential free PR for this song occured last Saturday on Britains Got Talent, Tobias Mead who wowed the judges last week can coincidently be found in the new version of the Ambitions video (hes the guy who gets bundled into the A Team van at the end):-

Come on Warners, you can proper capitilize on this free publicity if you pulled you're finger out.

Chartwise Ambitions has just fallen out of the Norweign Top20 after 52 consecutive weeks, has made number 1 in Sweden and is currently racing up the German airplay charts.
