I don't watch BBC News 24 but I have the subtitle problem with ITV1 and 2 when i timeshift live tv.

Did you try the Factory Reset as above?

I tried that and lost all my schedules etc and i had to enter them again. It fixed the subs problem for a while.
Then today the subs problem was back. Im not doing a factory reset again.
The bug is not fixed at all.
