hi i am in my 30s and think that there should be a diverse range of ages to make the show more fun anyway what do you think what age groups would you prefer

18-25
25-40
40-90 lol

I'd prefer the vast majorty to be of the 18-25 age group; undignified, oblivious and entertaining!

The last Big Brother had the majority being 28-35, and fell flat on it's ass. We don't want sensible, married individuals. We want raunchy, horny, entertaining and lively, young people!

Of course, include one forty year old, one 50-60 year old, like other successful Reality Shows do; they can be the entertaining, but sensible bunch who people respect and like. Much like Maureen + James from Back to Reality.

How do you figure that the last BB had the majority in the group you suggest?, the average age was far younger.

I would like a vast age group from 18 to 50!

Now that would be interesting and fun!

la la i totally agree look at im a celeb there was a wide variety of people from different age groups and backgrounds and it worked
you cant just put a group of twentysomethings in a house and expect tension fun bitching stick a variety of people with different ages and backgrounds and watch it work

I agree also. 18 to 50 would be a much better mix than just all under 25

i say 18-60 lol it will be fun and also maybe it will attract a bigger audience why cant the wrinklys have fun as well as the young models and perfect pec men

Ii is very hard to specify which age groups should go in, and I think BB were very stupid to say just before BB3 that they would suspect anyone over 45's motivation for applying. Some 21 year olds are like 50 year olds and vice versa. I don't think you can generalise on how different ages will behave. BB producers need to focus more on personalities and less on looks, age and academic abilities

The difference is that with I'm A Celeb and BTR the personalities of the celebrities are a known quantity and to a certain extent it is easier for the producers to match up and predict their behaviour, whereas people chosen from the public at large, no matter how often they are interviewed, are complete unknown quantities, they might be boring, they might be fun, nobody knows until they actually get in the house.

One stipulation I would make is that they all have a full set of teeth.

I know this might sound strange to some but the over 40's do actually know how to have fun, infact we young ones are boring and childish in comparison!

It's not so much about age as about personality types. Some clash, others cancel each other out, etc. so the bods at channel 4 should put a bit more thought into it rather than just saying 'No wild people' or 'Everyone should get along fine'.

Personally I don't care if the age range is 18 - 80. So long as there are a few insomniacs and some early morning risers amongst them, so we don't have to suffer them sleeping too much.

If the housemates have any braincells, then I really think they will go out of their way to be entertaining and more lively this year, because they know exactly what we all thought of BB4.

I would prefer a wider age range, however, I do not especially warm to the "baby" contestants. Their lack of emotional range, and willingness to play up to being youthful in order to ingratiate themselves with their fellow contestants never fails to annoy me! I'd really prefer no-one under 21 got in.

I think that a good mix of age groups would be good,
but if I was producer of BB5 I my main concern would be getting interesting characters in the house. They have had five years of experience now, and countless other reality tv shows to look at for inspiration.
They can't get it wrong this time... can they?

there are a lot of older people with great personalities and also with more life experienses than for example and 18yr old

Yeah! That's what we need, lots of older people, with plenty of " When I was your age....." type stories.

yes thats what im trying to get across bystander the "when i was your age " conversations as the younger housemates will learn a lot about the older house mates vise/versa.

It will make an all round more interesting show

instead of everyone trying to get of with each other as i suspect will happen this year after the peter and jordan episode in IM A CELEB. (it generated a lot of publicity)

I think that the housemates who are going in this year will know this and the young ones will try and S*** each other just for votes or to play out a love triangle. i myself am bored with all that

So get a mixed range of age groups personalities::

lets see how teeangers will react with people in there 30s-40s
and let the fun begin

Agreed, but look at Teen Big Brother; these young people had no limits .. they were young, perhaps immature and wreckless, and provided good entertainment. Like I said above, though, a fraction of older housemates to make the average as diverse as always, but young people with no long term goals definitely can provide better entertainment overall than an older person who has respect for him or herself ..

Remember, if you have dignity, you can't succeed on a Reality Show. Just my opinion, though.

And I'm not speaking for all older people, I'm sure many 40 - 55 year olds are very entertaining, like Brocket and Maureen; but the most entertaining people you'll find on a show are those who lack dignity, like Jade; and by the time you've come to an older age, you've learnt to respect yourself alot more in terms of how you're portrayed.

Older HM's, sitting around relating their lifetime experiences, would be just as big a turn off for viewers as Jon Tickle was telling his stories in last years BB4 flop.
