James Jordan's presenting abilities - Discuss
I thought he did a very good job on ITT segments this week, and seems quite a natural.
Apologies if this has been discussed already. |

Thought he was great - made it look very easy which I'm sure it's not!

I can see a career as a presenter looming when he has to hang up his dancing shoes. He did really well.

He could be in a DO with Du Beke for Bruce's job.

I agree, posted on the ITT thread. I never liked James (at all!
) on the show and was fully prepared to fast forward thru his segment last friday. To my horror I thought it (/he) was great, and then he proved it to be no fluke by Monday's being equally good.

I've really loved both of James's recent segments on ITT, here's hoping he gets a few more to do

All of the other pros and contestants seem to speak very highly of James. It seems he's a really good bloke, helpful and supportive. I hadn't previously liked him at all, but now I really do.
I'm looking at both of the Jordans in a new light lately. |

I don't like him as a personality but thought he was good at presenting.

I was pleasantly suprised. He was very good. I also love when he introduces Ola as his 'beautiful wife'. I am a sucker for romance

Let's face it, a lot of people marked James' card after he was 'beastly' to Georgina in series 4, which was his first series.
The fact that she was a lazy couldn't-care-less so-and-so was lost on the sisterhood of "hate" (their word, used in many posts). Sadly for his prospects among the voters, James didn't suffer in silence as Flavia has this year (and though Craig was useless he certainly tried harder than Georgina.) He also made the mistake of standing against the John Sargeant flood tide last year. Basically he put the integrity of dance first, as you would expect from a professional. He's also helped a number of the male celebs after getting knocked out, and we heard from Brian what a diamond James was in BF's early days in London. So I hope this is the start of James' redemption, but above all I hope he gets a star dancer with a lovely personality next year. |

I grudgingly accept he did a fairly good job on ITT.
But 10 minutes on ITT and 2 hours on Strictly are worlds apart, so I wouldn't say he's a contender for Bruce's job. |

He's not a contender for the main show presenting gig, full stop. But for ITT segments, thought he did pretty well - quite at ease and without need for total scripting.
Smart move on his part, as was his public utterances on this year's exit. He seems to have learnt where his bread is buttered and what exactly it is that he's a part of. |

I have to say he was a natural. He came over as very friendly and charming and I never thought I would say that. It seems he has learnt his lesson after the backlash over his remarks regarding John Sargeant. I see him in a new light - he is very, very good - far better than Anton du Beke whose style is very false and forced.

I thought James was excellent. Very natural and confident as well. Hope we get to see him doing more of this sort of thing.

I'm surprised at how natural he was and I did like listening to what he has to say!
I still don't approve of his "tantrum" over JS but, credit where it's due he did a very good job.EDIT: I thought he was good but, nowhere near good enough to take over from Bruce. It needs to be someone with far more presenting experience, especially when it comes to working on a live show. |

Good presenting the short bits he does but don't know how he'd do with a longer stint. Still not taking to him though.

I thought he was ok when presenting from Blackpool, but if he were to replace Bruce I think I would TO |

James got a lot of stick on here in his first series as he wouldn't take any nonsense from a really stroppy madam who didn't want to do the work, she was bone idle.
She really thought she was somebody as she'd been in a soap. (Yes it is a soap, but you can call it what you like). Whatever happened to her? |
