All the dancers, judges, production crew and celebrities are allocated spaces/ tickets (VIP's). The free audience places are dependent on how many of these guests turn up - obviously the less number of guests = higher allocation of spaces for free audience places.

The BBC always over allocate free tickets as they want to ensure a "full house", therefore, if a VIP doesn't turn up - there's plenty of people backstage willing to take their place.

So, although you'll get into the BBC it does not guarantee a spot in the studio - you may be watching the show on a tv in the green room!

It's a fab occasion and well worth the stress of waiting & hoping to get in (I did get in incidently). If I ever get the chance to go again, I'll be setting up a mini camp outside the studio before 12 and taking in turns with my plus 1 to visit the fab shopping centre opposite to kill time.

I really hope you get in lovely, it is a fantastic evening out x”

They seem to be guaranteeing around 100 this series as there are less celebrities in the audience. Maybe the BBC finally took note of what the public want!
