Humax HDR: File renaming bug still present after upgrade
Hi,
As this is my first post since the upgrade, perhaps I should at least acknowledge the few improvements that Humax have made: Particularly playing encrypted BBC-HD from an external drive (and fixing the similar Fast Forward breakup from the internal drive). The auto-deletion to free up space also looks generally well conceived, although I hope not to use it myself. However, several disappointments for me, particularly the failure to fix the powercut bug. The HDR must be unique (even including other Humax PVRs) in failing to record anything after a minor power outage. And yes, I did suffer a powercut whilst on holiday this year and am now getting bored with having a heavy UPS stuffed under the TV. But to the topic for this thread, that when you rename a file within a folder on the internal drive (I often like to add a series number to the programme name) then when you exit the window, the renamed file is transferred into the root folder. Potentially this has been aggravated after the update because the folder might be auto-deleted (if now empty) before you put the file back in again. It might be considered trivial to move the file back using File Manager but there is a further problem: If an external drive is plugged in then the right-hand pane contains the USB device so it's not possible to move a file within the internal drive. There is no "Change Device" as the red button is allocated to "delete" in File Manager. The only solution seems to be to remove the USB drive every time. Cheers, Alan. |

Hi,
Thanks to both of you, so only one bug in this area then. ![]() I do hate contextual memu items (in this case the prompt at the bottom of the window) that completely "vanish" and are not just greyed out when relevant but not usable! Cheers, Alan. |

Thought leaving the unit on (with no auto standby) bypassed the power cut bug? Could be wrong never tried it myself though
