Noise on the line, found the fault but want to know where i stand

Hi all,

Been having problems with the phone line for a while although it has got worse in the last month or so.
The external wiring connects to a junction box before entering the master socket, the two terminals that are soldered to the small pcb in the junction box appear to be loose and when wiggling them the crackling worsens and sometimes the line goes dead.

Where do we stand on having this fixed free of charge, I understand that anything up to and including the master socket is the responsibility of BT however I want to make sure so we don’t get charged. Originally the house had a front door that was set back, so we had a porch but within the outside walls if this makes sense .

We had the door removed and a new one put in flush with the outside walls so the junction box, master socket and wiring have been hanging on the wall with the existing cable clips holding it up. Would BT say that we might have caused damage to the junction box by having it hanging there and so could be caught and pulled by something, or will they just replace it?
At the moment we are having great difficulty making and receiving calls, and the broadband connection has dropped quite a few times today alone although it is rather bad today more so than usual.

Pictures can be provided if they will help with my poor explanation of the setup as it is now hoping openreachpeep will have some good news for me

Thanks

The box is our responsibility, and should be repaired free of charge. however.... to be honest, even if the engineer did the fix and used the correct clear code(including normal wear and tear) and didn't raise the charge, our TRC (time related charges) spotters will get the job and put one on regardless and wait for it to be contested, meanwhile the engineer is chastised for not charging (as a result more and more people are being charged for work that isn't their fault(as seen on "watchdog")).
anyways i ramble, you can call us out(via your service provider) then contest the charge. Or.... get a little electrical connection block(B&Q) disconnect the 2 wires(remembering which colour went to A & B). prise out the circuit board with a small screw driver, and connect the 2 wires together again. (this is what we would do(but we use gel filled connectors), and probably tidy up the cable as well).

i know it's not a definate yes or no to the charging as they keep moving the goal posts on us all the time.
